Unless Ahsoka spends the entire first season looking for Thrawn and he only shows up at the end, with the story continuing into Season 2.
And yes, Filoni and Hayden are the basest after George himself.

George Lucas: "I am the base!"
One wonders if the events that lead to him (mistakenly) selling Lucasfilm will one day be dramatised. There's quite a lot of material for a script....

Maybe after everyone involved has passed on

Let me be frank: it's looking like the Barbie movie in Star Wars drag.

I haven't seen the Barbie movie or the Barbie trailer (zero interest). What exactly about it makes it feel like the Barbie movie to you?

It's appears to be about a group of female friends, with a few male characters serving simply as props. Which is fine, there's a certain market for that, but it doesn't interest me (and plenty other fans) in the context of the Star Wars mythos.

Yes, it looks to be very much The Adventures of Ahsoka and Sabine. I can only imagine in this day and age that Barbie would be used to tell some kind of cringey feminist story. With the Ahsoka character, by contrast, Filoni and Lucas managed to create a character that was acceptable to feminists without being off putting to many of us, so I'm not too worried myself.

I never watched Rebels, and I still don't want to watch it. I think that's playing into it too. I want the Ahsoka show, not some 4th season (or whatever it would be) of Rebels; I don't want Barbie in Star Wars drag.
I want Star Wars, that is one last dance for Anakin
*cough* what we were supposed to get in TROS....

What do you think a scene between Ahsoka and Anakin's Force Ghost would have to accomplish to make up for TROS?

That's a good question. And, admittedly, it's one I need to think more deeply about. Indeed, the question of how the Force Ghost of Anakin should operate in a post-ROTJ world is worthy of a thread in itself. We've tended to spend our time talking of Anakin via flashbacks or as in some parallel universe, aka "what if" scenario.
All I can say is that there's nobody more qualified at Lucasfilm to answer that question than David Filoni. Abrams and Johnson both showed they couldn't care less about the character's relevance to the overall Saga. I'd take Filoni handling the character in a series over some hack doing so in a movie any day.
To rectify the carnage that was TROS is a mammoth task. There were just too many stupid decisions made in that film, it's hard to know where to begin. Either way, an Episode X is inevitable.
Do you think we'll get Obi-Wan or Padmé in this series too? As flashbacks, that is.

I am guessing not in the first season, but if there are more seasons it is more likely.

I dunno.... they're all getting on. As are we. Father Time stops for no one. It's now or never.
Well, unless you're Cillian Murphy, where you can play a college-aged version of yourself while in your mid forties. Sorry Mr. Christensen, the pandemic has done a number on you, you ain't passing for a twenty year-old any more, sadly. Natalie Portman and McGregor are ageing better.

I won't be surprised if Natalie Portman becomes a hot grandma.

Flippin' heck, this new teaser has totally changed my anticipation for the show.
BRING IT ON!

The way Anakin is speaking to Ahsoka in the voiceover in this teaser, clearly and at length, now that is how the character should have been incorporated in TROS. The wishy-washy, Anakin as the same status as countless side characters, that Abrams gave us, was an insult, and would have been best not included whatsoever.

ArchdukeOfNaboo That's what what happens when you get someone who hates the prequels and the idea of Vader as a Tragic Villain. He's a hack!

Listen carefully to the first four seconds. What do you hear? The feels man, the feels
I cannot get over how long the Anakin voiceover is. It's rare to see the character being given this kind of room, we're accustomed to crumbs. In Obi-Wan Kenobi last year, Anakin (incl unmasked Vader) never had more than a single line at a time, he didn't get any opportunity to properly express himself.
