Load of revisionist nonsense- Crystal Skull made something like 100 million on DVD sales
Might be more to do with the fact that the public has soured on Lucasfilm and doesn’t trust them anymore

That's harsh. I really loved it. But my expectations were low. It's odd that Disney insists on casting strong Englishy-accented women to persuade old tired Harrison Ford to do the adventureman thing. But I came to accept her character. Maybe the reviewer thought she was written with contradictions, but Phoebe Waller Bridge sold it. And I bought the punch at the end because he was kind of delerious to begin with, and not in his right mind. The kid proved to be the one eyesore of the movie for me. They could have given him more personality. The score was perfect. I really loved the ending. I thought the battle was magnificent, and it really felt like Indiana Jones was at a moment in history. Maybe its a little calculated and safe, and not rooted enough in actual real world spooky archeological stuff, but it manages to connect the previous movies together, and give it more emotional heft, in a way Crystal Skull didnt have time to do.

Desperately looking for excuses, if you ask me. The general public wasn't interested in another Indiana Jones movie, it is as simple as that.

A decent enough nod of appreciation but now well after the fact, after the film's release and rather speedy fade into the oblivion of 'meh-indifference', it all seems a bit vacant at least, and at certain irrelevant. The final product bears no greater mark than that of compromise—submission to corporate oversight. Like current Star Wars, it's just a thing that is there, scribbled napkin annotations from Lucas or not.

Ditto Crystal Skull, Red Tails, and Strange Magic.

Lovely statement by Mangold, for my taste. Makes it clear why George appeared happier at that movies' premiere compared to the ones of Star Wars movies Disney made.

I keep forgetting the part that comes after Ruh. Oh, right: Roh.
Another sign of the pop-cinema times, that one of the most viable film franchises born from the '80s (to say nothing of it being my personal place of worship) has now been reduced to a commercial L ...and I didn't even hate the movie. This whole thing -- from one end of the IP regurgitated spectrum to the other -- just needs to burn itself out. Someone needs to pull the cartridge game out of the Nintendo and blow on it.

I have no problem whatsoever with Disney losing money with their rather insulting productions. It's when they are rewarded and make money that I have a problem (e.g: The Farce Awakens). The only consolation is that nobody cares about it anymore.

What do you guys think about the casting of Kate Capshaw in The Temple of Doom? It never really quite squared with me, but I'm curious to hear what you think.
