Hello. I know some of y’all from the JCF and it’s great to see some of the OGs that inspired me to join the JCF to defend the PT during the height of TFA days are kicking here now! Welcome, Del! So glad you could join us. I'm pleased to see that your own powers have grown strong the last few years. Don't think I haven't seen and read through some of your more recent postings on TFN, 'cos I have! You're more than half-way, I'd say, to becoming a bit of an OG yourself. A lot of your posts on TFN are pretty gangster. Not all of us are here by choice. Or, put another way, some people's options are more limited than others. Some people (like myself) were outright banned from TFN, while others are so deterred by the rampant censorship and blatant double standards that they've made this site their second home. At least on here, you can say whatever you like about the Disney films without any fear of being harassed, trolled, gaslit, or shut down. Equally, you can shout your love of the prequels to the heavens and nobody is going to drag the discussion down with false equivalences nor is a moderator going to arbitrarily declare that trilogy comparisons are out of bounds. Get some of that clean Naboo air into your lungs and rejoice that you're free of imperial tyranny here. And please, when you can, don't hesitate to get stuck in! That's what a message board is for.

We've hadn't so many new members this year so far, so it's a delight to have you join us. As a TFN veteran, I'm sure you'll settle in very nicely.
Can I ask how you found out about our website, I'm presuming somebody from here invited you? And a question to the forum: has anybody studied how well we're doing on Google search results? It would be nice to see us cropping up on the first page for certain Star Wars topics.

It’s great to see you again, Cryo! Been a hell of a long time and yeah, I remember you and mikeximus being banned and unfortunately a decrease of posts from some of other vets. Luckily we still have darkspine10 I did see you on the Prequel Appreciation Society website but I think the owner shut down comments a few years ago if not mistaken . And thank you! That means a lot to me 😁 I’m happy to see you still lurk around the forums. We have garnered a lot of great posters who defend the PT and it’s great to see how much has changed since 2015 in how the trilogy is discussed among the fandom and broader public. ArchdukeOfNaboo thank you for the warm welcome too! Actually I stumbled upon this place by accident tbh. I was looking for other areas of possible SW discussion outside of TFN, Reddit, The Cantina and this place ended up being a result I think during a random Google search. And behold, a paradise where the PT was celebrated? Featuring posts from people like Cryo? Sign me up!

It’s great to see you again, Cryo! Been a hell of a long time and yeah, I remember you and mikeximus being banned and unfortunately a decrease of posts from some of other vets. Luckily we still have darkspine10 I did see you on the Prequel Appreciation Society website but I think the owner shut down comments a few years ago if not mistaken. Indeed. So happy to cross paths with you again, Del. If you remember us being banned, you must have been quite perceptive at the time. The mods tried to cover it up. But as the saying goes: "You can fool some of the people some of the time..." I posted on the SWPAS from time to time. I don't recall making that many posts, but one or two prequel fans seem to have noticed me there. And yeah, unfortunately, Lazy Padawan stopped updating her blog in 2018. In the 2017 to 2022 period (i.e., from when I disappeared on TFN until your rediscovering me here), I initially sustained myself with hidden group discussions with some people on TFN from the PT section (many of whom have accounts here), then later started posting in the comments section of Naboo News (where I had met and had many exchanges with ArchdukeOfNaboo ), until finally taking the plunge and using my account here on Naberrie Fields (which I registered all the way back in February 2017, as soon as our webmaster Subtext Mining set the site up, and actually before being banned on TFN). This site, you might say, is something of a protest site against TFN. Not even against the moderation, per se (although that, too), but for the way anti-prequel trolling was still commonplace in 2017. All the gloating over TFA had begun and there was a strong sense of Disney finally correcting all the wrongs of the PT. Look how that turned out... Anyway: Arch Duke, in fact, is largely responsible for Naberrie Fields jolting to life. I told him about this website on Naboo News back in 2019, then he encouraged me to pick up my account here, and before long, the two of us were racking up posts on NF and it started to get a little busier. I've joked that there's a certain sick irony in the fact that this website, in acronym form, is one letter less than TFN! Fate is a cruel jester. In the words of Obi-Wan: "Not to worry -- we are still flying half a ship." While it would be nice to see this place get a little livelier, it has a certain chilled-out mood that is very "Naboo", and it's quite the pleasant place to inhabit after the despicable Orwellian cesspit of TFN. Nobody has to watch their words here. If Rey is a Mary Sue to you, she's Mary Sue -- period. If the prequels are the greatest Star Wars thing ever, well, you can keep asserting it without interference from OT fanatics and Disney mouthpieces (or so-called third-wave feminists). We're an alliance of Lucas lovers and we're not shy about our love for all things Lucas here. I lurk, but not as much as I did, say, a year ago? I wouldn't like to attempt to quantify my lurking, but I'm pretty sure it has diminished in recent months. And lurking in the past few years has been just as much in the Sequel Trilogy section as the PT board. For a time, I had a new fixation (oddly: I still really like TROS), and I was keen to do what I did during the prequels: read as many perspectives and gather as many insights as possible. In part, I pushed the prequels to one side. But mainly in terms of not being so driven to read fresh insights on them (fresh insights, these days, are a little thin on the ground). Still, I did notice some of your posts, and I was reminded that TFN still has some smart and genuinely passionate prequel fans still posting in their defence. And yes, the tide is turning. The prequels are no longer a lousy excuse for a bunch of toy commercials or the epitome of everything wrong with modern cinema. I believe some other Star Wars movies may have recently moved in to claim those accolades. It's not a time for boasting or complacency, however. Lots of people still look down at the PT and its fanbase, and the media still encourages the usual trash perspectives (by and large). But at least some people can finally admit there was a lofty vision to the prequels and actually a story being told. You know, it's like George Lucas planned it to be this way, or something... It's really quite fascinating you say you weren't invited, but found us via a random Google search!!! I can only imagine some of the cogs turning in Arch Duke's head right now. We've discussed how to increase visibility and interest. This might be our worst fear: Many fans still have no idea this website exists, and it's pot luck whether they may one day stumble on it or not. I wish fans were sneakily sharing this website's URL around like contraband on TFN. I see it has been mentioned in one of those inane "social threads" in the PT forum. But that's like a monkey accidentally typing out a page from "Hamlet" and then dropping it in the garbage masher. Thank you for the compliment(s). If we have anything in our favour, it's a small number of TFN veterans choosing to still stick up for and wax lyrical about the PT. Although Disney projects draw the eye, prequel devotees spewing mad passion for the PT is this site's bread and butter, its raison d'être.

Ah, man, I missed it. Too busy writing Star Wars forum posts (irony?). I'll never forget the joy I felt when I accidentally tuned into the 2017 Celebration livestream when George and Hayden took to the stage. And yes, the crowd went nuts when they walked out. History doesn't repeat, but it certainly rhymes.

I kinda accidentally tuned in too. I was watching the session McDiarmid did, and then when that was over, I'm like hmmm, let's just click on live and see what's on before I leave. And hey, whatayaaaaknow?!
Most of it would be of little interest to me. Merchandise has never pressed any of my buttons.
Anyhow, I'll post the standalone video to the Kenobi thread whenever its posted. Christensen gives a memorable quotation of his character towards the end, and the crowd went super nuts.

Nice. I tend to look at replies, not views. The Kenobi thread has 443 replies (and 13,252 views), the TROS thread has 427 replies (and 13,522 views). There is one thread in front of the both of them. Seeker of the Whills Mirroring and Symbolism thread, with 455 replies (and 16,283 views). Looks like the Obi-Wan thread is going to surge ahead of the competition very soon!

Maybe. Or just change the title of the existing one to: Obi-Wan Kenobi series: speculation and reaction

I don't mind. I suppose it would be nice to have somewhere one could easily access the press tour material, I do think its been monumental in the story that is the "afterlife of the prequels". But then long before the press tour started, we were discussing what the series would be like, so I guess it can't do any harm to have the reaction there too.
I would support a new thread for Celebration 2022, but I doubt if many people will be so interested in that. I'm not starting another niche thread where I'm the only one posting.

Congratulations to ArchdukeOfNaboo 's Obi-Wan Kenobi series thread! It has now passed the 500-replies mark, which is the first-ever thread on Naberrie Fields to do so. Ingram was the one who finally took us there. I guess that Obi-Wan Kenobi fella is kinda popular or something.
