Hi,
I was just invited here by a prior member; glad this exists. I used to post as Troll Dahl on the IMDb SW forums, which are due to be permanently retired within the next 48 hours. Hopefully this more specialized setting allows for a more palatable conversation.

Hey man, good to see you. The PM thread hasn't been quite the same since you and Cryogenic were banned. But yes, we still all get together on Skype sometimes. Speaking of which, be sure to check your messages there, I messaged you last month about an upcoming chat we had. I also added you to our ongoing conversation, so you can read it and join in if you want. Take care.

Welcome new members. Also, it's great how this has turned into the (much needed) welcoming thread for new members, when it's actually a welcoming thread for the admin by the host company , that I forgot to put on private. But hey, c'est la vie.

(Dr. Nick voice) Hi, everybody! Miss me? Cryo's back in town... Took a bit of prodding, I'll admit, to get me back in town. And you all have Arch Duke to thank for the honour -- if it all goes wrong, blame him! Arch Duke not only prodded, he may have also punched and even threatened to blow up my house (or, failing that, he may have intimated he was going to bury my house under an enormous mound of "The Last Jedi" Blu-rays -- can't remember, but I wouldn't put it past him to deliver an ironic punishment or two...). Kidding aside, I should have made some effort to start posting here ages ago. I last saw y'all during the last Ice Age, I believe? And now, I hear, it's getting warm. From Hoth to Tatooine. Anyway, looking forward to rolling up my sleeves and causing some trouble! What else are message boards for? On another note, gah! This interface is a little odd, isn't it? My screen is swamped by chat window. Too much chat window. I have to get used to a new "text" canvas and I'm feeling a little disoriented right now. If you didn't know, I've been skulking a lot in the Naboo News comments section, recently -- another THX-y (and rather unsex-y) sea of white interface. I've had many an engaging conversation with the aforementioned Arch Duke on there. In a way, I'm getting a taste of my own medicine by posting here, since I kept encouraging him to join Naberrie Fields -- and he actually did, then started harassing me about it! The nerve!

Well, look who we have here. Actually, scratch that, let's try this instead:
"A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one!"
And, like Palpatine, I would be telling a lie, for I knew it was going to happen all along *cynical smile*
The sequels may be divisive amongst prequelists, but I can't resist borrowing from Han here:
"[Cryogenic], we're home"
@subtext Mining
I see that a few of the early members who've posted here (piscespeacemonger, xezene and negotiator1138) haven't been online since 2017 - 2 years ago. Is there anything you might be able to do the bring them back? To give them a heads up that this place is back running? Maybe an email?
Thanks ever so much

Ha! You can never go wrong quoting Palpatine. I, too, hope we get a few of the "old crew" back -- all of them, in fact. And plenty of new ones, including familiar faces from a former message board that started going down the tubes a few years ago... I'm trying to think of a dedicated prequel board existing anywhere else. I think Lazy Padawan, the owner of SWPAS, or The Star Wars Prequel Appreciation Society, had one attached to her site, some years ago. That's right. I even made a few posts there. This is definitely going back a while, though. There are one or two more general Star Wars boards around, and I'm sure most of us are familiar with at least one of them. Perhaps focusing just on the prequels and originals -- or the six-film George Lucas saga -- is too narrow. Who knows? I guess this site can be considered a bit of an experiment. The Disney films seem to have gone over like a lead balloon for a lot of hardcore prequel fans. Although I don't think that means they can't be discussed here. But I love the saga-centric focus of this site. Again, that means the Lucas saga, with the prequels providing the foundation. If you're a prequel fan, in other words, you've come to the right place.

WAIT A MINUTE!!??!!!! OH... MY... FORCE....!!!!!!!!! TROLL DAHL! Holy crap. How did I miss that message from two years ago?
I'm referring to the message from member PiscesPeacemonger.
Troll Dahl and I used to converse on IMDb, mainly on the TPM board.
Rest in peace, IMDb boards (as broken, as weird, as outrageous, as silly, as pathetic, as tiring, as obscene, and as all-around frustrating as the IMDb boards could be). I'm really behind. Can't believe I never noticed Troll Dahl's message till now. Damn. Troll, I wish you'd messaged me! Noticing that message gives me a small speck of hope that this site can become more popular in the future. We'll see.

By the way...
As that last message proves (I'll leave it unedited), there are plenty of kinks to try and iron out here.
I enlarged the font for that one line, to emphasise my astonishment at noticing Troll Dahl having posted here, and then I set the size back down. But something weird happened. The last two lines of my message look smaller, to me, than the preceding ones. But I didn't tamper with the size setting a second time? All those lines should match.
Text spacing also seems to glitch between the text box (or the full-reply box) and actually posting; they don't seem to fully correspond. In other words: when you are typing out your response, everything may look okay, but when you submit your post and look at it in the thread, spacing errors (in the form of extra spaces) have suddenly been introduced. Annoying.
Anyway, what we have is what we have -- for now. Here's hoping more people join. And hello, again, to all existing members, and hello to even the lurkers and shirkers! Please join. This is a relaxed enclave. Once again, if you like the prequels, you're at the right place.

Hey Cryo, great to see you! And let it be known, we all have Cryo to thank for the name of this forum! A few years ago, a group of us Prequel fans had been chatting and decided to create this place as a retreat for PT fans to go to when they want to discuss things without being derided & derailed or banned for various reasons. It sort of serves a similar role to the Gungan Sacred Place or the Lake Country. We had also been having Beatles vs. Elvis debates so the name was perfect. Where nothing is real.
