Filoni is chief creative like Theodin was king of Rohan. But yeah, with this glut of continuously flowing new content, do people even care about the movies anymore? Is the lore Lucas set up still relevant? Seems people have just picked what they like and don't care about the rest. Whether it 'fits' or not. With all these shows to watch, do they even have time for the movies? Disney's over saturation seems to be causing a malaise, a burnout, and a tuning out of the other parts of SW that don't tickle each particular person's pleasure spots in their brain. Like i said earlier less is more. Exactly. But not if you're a money hungry monster. Or, at least there's no way you can convince the suits.

It's a trap!
The sentiment going around the last 2 years or so has been, "Disney is losing my interest. Im not going to watch the next thing. The only thing that will save SW is if they make Filoni head of creative department."
So what does Disney do? Make Filoni head of creative.
So these fans are now like, "Oh, ok, now I will watch the next thing!"
But Dave's new position is in title only, I'd assume. He's just a puppet head.
"But he was trained by George!"
Yeah, and Anakin was trained by Obi-Wan.

I feel nothing for this news. It's too little too late. And I think Rebels has been the only decent thing Filoni has done under the Disney regime, so I don't have my hopes up that he will magically turn everything he touches now to gold. But he is more friendly to the prequels than a lot of the other creatives Disney has hired, so there's at least that.

Honestly I think at this point, the Star Wars audience is still pro-prequel era, and at best indifferent toward the prequel movies themselves. As prequel fans, this is our issue, but everybody else has moved on.

As prequel fans, this is our issue, but everybody else has moved on. I have noticed a sea change in many corners of the internet when it comes to Star Wars and the prequels. It seems the sequels have taken their place as the new punching bag of the fandom. But the people Disney has chosen to helm their movies and shows have included some notable PT haters among them such as Leslye Headland. Her show is still to come, and I was very disappointed to read her more recent comments about the prequels after she had given almost glowing praise to them before. It feels like her earlier nice words about the prequels were mere lip service.

And I've noticed that many militant Disney fans dump on the prequels in response to criticism.
