"I'm not saying, "Yes, I'll do what you want."' I'm saying, "I'll do what I want."' People don't always like that."
This is Paul Mccartney talking about writing and recording his first Wings album in 1971.
Very reminiscent of the analogy Lucas used of painting his house white instead of green, after the reaction to Episode I.
I think one of the many reasons I liked the Prequels when they came out was, as someone who thinks of themselves as an artist, or at least has an interest in that world, I understand that's what artists do.
They're always trying new things and experimenting, they don't like to repeat the previous formula, regardless of how successful it was.
I've seen the same thing happen countless times with bands putting out new albums. The fans always bemoan how "bad" the new album is because it's not like the last. Then they do the same thing for the next album. When I saw that happening to Star Wars I was like, "oh, this", and just rolled with it, as unfortunate as it was.

And then years later, with more perspective on the whole thing, people go "oh that's what this work of art was going for/trying to accomplish etc., and it is actually really good!" At least, some come to that realization.

The way Lando greets Han on Cloud City is basically how dogs greet guests during the first few minutes of the time they're in their house.

"Hello, what have we here?" *sticks nose directly in Leia's crotch and starts sniffing around*

Is it too soon to quip that Light My Fire could be Anakin & Padmé's song? And is Han Solo just Jim Morrison? Turns out Harrison Ford was briefly a roadie for The Doors in 1968.

I wonder if this card title inspired the name of any Nordic metal bands.

These are the two cats where I live now. A mother and son. The male is named Simon, but sometimes I call him Cyborg Cypher Psycho and Sifo-Dyas And sometimes Garfunkle.

The male is named Simon, but sometimes I call him Cyborg Cypher Psycho and Sifo-Dyas And sometimes Garfunkle. I can't believe I missed the obvious, Saruman. And Saigon. Or, Sai-Gon, so it's like Qui-Gon. And Cylon, and Psilocybin.

What Anakin meant was he doesn't like The Clash album Sandinista.

Yes. Very frustrating. The site has always suffered from patchy screencaps loading, or not loading, at random from one page to the next, often leaving nearly half the caps or more per page blank. And on occasion I could bring up any number of pages with virtually zero loading issues whatsoever. But as of late the site seems to have lost its shit. Which is unfortunate, as no other archive online is as complete and of high-res quality. One complaint about the images on starwarsscreencaps is they're very dark. Does he crank the brightness down to -50% or something? Or is he using the diznee dvds? They're so desaturated too.

While hiding away on Tatooine, Obi-Wan also had recorded some music under a pseudonym.

I just noticed on Jnuary 2nd, the "most users online" set a new record of 89. I'm a little sad about that because I liked the previous record of 77. With Star Wars coming out in 1977, it just seemed appropriate
