Weird, I find women tend to be kinder to or flat-out love the Sequels. There are always exceptions in life, I guess.
In my experience though, just because a girl loves Star Wars doesn't mean shit. She can still be a terrible human and girlfriend anyway.

I guess it all comes down to the personality trait of agreeableness. The more agreeable, the more they'll nod their heads to whatever Disney is serving them. You find this in some guys too, to be fair *cough* Star Wars Explained.
Ah, some bad experiences? I never even mention Star Wars on dates, to be frank. Not really into the typical nerdy girl either, except for a few on YouTube maybe haha.

Unbeknownst to be me until now, It turns out I was a fan of Ray Stevenson long before Star Wars. He was Titus Pullo on Rome.
This hurts even more

Ray Stevenson also played Blackbeard on Black Sails (a pretty kickass prequel/re-imagining of Treasure Island).

Have you even met any girls?
Well, at least you're not doing a Luke TLJ. Better a Yoda on Deggobah indeed.

I see a lot of YouTube videos popping up in the past couple days offering special analysis of the fourth episode of Ahsoka. But they're also offering spoilers for the fifth episode.
Be careful what you watch!

I even went on a date with a girl once, believe it or not (even I forget that fact from time to time!).

What we may well see tonight is Hayden Christensen's fully fledged return to the Star Wars.
Most of his role in Kenobi, let's be frank, was in dialogue-less scenes as the man in the Darth Vader suit. It was primarily the Episode II era training scene where he got to speak, and that was a fight, mind you. He was also muted in that very brief, cloaked sequence from the storming of the Jedi temple.
Let's hope Filoni goes wild. Fingers crossed!

He went full-on soap opera with this one. I love how Hayden has to mix the Clone Wars Anakin with his own and then also create the distinction between that and his young Vader and grown cyborg Vader, and put it all into his performance. Honestly, it's big overblown cheesy TV, but as long as it delivers strange, fantastic stuff like this, with the gift of Kiner's score, I'll tune in for more.

I did watch Rebels, but I don't remember much of it, and that does sound like something I'd say.

I in particular love that bit where she lost the lightsaber on purpose.

And this line was the line I had been waiting for: "You're never too old to learn." -Anakin speaking from hard-earned experience.

This show is going to break the meme-o-sphere. My god... Yeah, it'll certainly reinvigorate some purpose to r/prequelmemes!
It is intriguing to think of all the story possibilities:
- Would Clone War era flashbacks work? Wouldn't that demand a lot of minutes to be properly fleshed out, and in so limiting the time to do things in real time? Or would whole episode-length flashbacks be an asset?
- How much of a role can young Luke play? If the series is set 10 years after Episode III, isn't it inviting a comparison with the Anakin of Episode I? Obi-Wan must surely be reminded.
- Can flashbacks of Padmé possibly play a part? It's got to be something on Vader's mind (it haunts him according to the comics).
- If Clone War era flashbacks aren't happening, how else is Christensen being incorporated? Vader having visions of the life he could have enjoyed if he hadn't ended up burning up on Mustafar? Or how about a more abstract manner of depicting the villain where he is represented in a different, yet familiar form? As one online commenter put it "maybe ObiWan sees Vader as Anakin simliar to how Thanos sees kid Gamor". Then there's the Vader-Anakin collage briefly touted in the concept art for TFA, which would feel far more relevant here.
- Does the "rematch of the century" that Kathleen Kennedy refers to truly occur in the mythology? Could it not be a vision or similar? There you can dispatch with the Vader suit and the sea is your oyster. Or maybe it really is a full on Vader vs Obi-Wan, but would Christensen really go in the suit for that? Not unless the mask can go off, and that then would have to be a vision.
But I hope we get something more substantial with the character, like him reminiscing about Padmé. Something that connects to his humanity, and that they don't just show him as an invincible badass terminator again. Hayden's recent comments have been pretty promising on that front. I hope so too. To what degree they hold to the use Vader sparingly doctrine remains to be seen. To me, that rule more applies to scenes of violence involving Vader. Short, conversational scenes are different, while scenes involving an unmasked or Anakin-like presence are a whole other ball game. Christensen has effectively second billing in this series, so we can't just be getting the Vader of Rogue One again. Here are several ways to it:
1. Clone War era flashbacks - via Obi-Wan or Vader's memory
2. Unmasked Vader in real-time - both inside and outside the meditation chamber, should his mask or suit be damaged in a fight (or via other circumstances)
3. Obi-Wan hallucinations of Anakin - primarily in hermit-like scenes, but possibly also in a confrontation with Vader where he might also see images of his former padowan.
4. Vader visions of himself as Anakin - occurring in the meditation chamber
The first two occur in actual SW history, the latter two are imaginings or dreams, but are nonetheless important as psychological insights into our characters (ESB started this feature). If Padmé or Ahsoka were ever to feature in this programme, it would almost certainly be via 4. Flashbacks are more likely to be personal scenes on the battlefield or Jedi Temple between Anakin and his master. A live-action scene between Christensen's Anakin and Ahoska would be spectacular, it would forever cement to bond betwen the Episode 2.5 that was The Clone Wars animation, and Episode III. This would be my equivalent of the OT generation seeing the reuniting of Luke and Leia, it is difficult to think of anything that could pack a greater emotional punch. There probably would need to be a teenage recasting of Ahsoka too. I could definitely see the filmmakers reusing footage of Anakin and Padmé from the PT as part of a flashback Vader is having, or voice-overs of the latter. It's hard to see how they would bring back Portman, I'm not sure she'd be up for a cameo, unfortunately. The imagined future would certainly get some interested eyes in hardcore prequelists, but this is Obi-Wan's show after all, and I feel that one would be going off on quite a tangent, as much as it could serve as brilliant literary device. This internet user describes how it was done in past books:
Now if only they would streamline the second season, cut out the Inquisitors or any plots about Leia or Luke being kidnapped, and have a more recognizable Obi-Wan being guided by Qui-Gon. Sprinkle in some Clone Wars flashbacks, and the fans would love it.
Chewie, we're home.
