I'd like to give Padme a pearl necklace. What? Thick ropes of jewelry. Anyone seeing ROTJ in theaters later this week for its 40th anniversary? After all, it is... the first prequel. I'm going. No question.

No re-release trailer from LFL yet. While I'm in absolute agreement with Ingram's distate for modern trailers here, I must admit that I'm rather curious to see a freshly edited promo for the occasion. Pretty rad poster.

I have a tiny local theatre so I probably won't be seeing ROTJ on the big screen.

I posted a brief review of my recent 40th anniversary theatrical screening of ROTJ in the "Return of the Jedi: 'The First Prequel'" thread here.

Damn, they aren't showing RotJ in my country. I'm very jealous of your experience, Somny. I saw TFA, Rogue One, and TLJ in theaters, but it wasn't the same experience as seeing a beloved Lucas saga classic on the big screen. TPM 3D is still my greatest experience seeing Star Wars in theaters.

Hello everyone! Making my little re-introduction, glad to see you all still keeping this place alive! I plan on dropping by more now. I enjoyed our old conversations in the TFN days of yonder, as well as our Skype convos, back in the day. I still love the films, naturally, how could I not? In the past several years I've devoted more of my time to focusing on the material of the Star Wars Expanded Universe which I loved dearly growing up and still do. I've been working on things both in-universe and behind-the-scenes out-of-universe for that. I made a little Reddit profile to share my efforts with a wider audience and some of my stuff is collected there, including a lot of focus on the Flanneled One himself, George. If you are curious you can check some of that out here. Here and there I might make some relevant posts here about that stuff. Outside that, regarding the films, well it's crazy what time has done, no? The prequels and George's reputation seems to have had a complete reversal from the days in which we were the stalwart defenders of the value of both. It's nice to see, although slightly amusing, seeing all of that swing from favor, to disfavor, back to favor again. Now at least one can read an article about the films without having the 100% guarantee of a backhanded remark, although one still finds that about. I do still bristle at the implication that The Clone Wars show 'saved' the prequels, something I do not believe at all to be the case, but I suppose it is a small price to pay for the reversal in general reputation. As for the new Disney material, I did my best to give it a chance until the Obi-Wan show, which I felt was a disaster. I had little interest before, and didn't enjoy the new material by and large, but that was really the last straw for me. To me, all of that felt like, if you can't even respect the original film, what is even happening? None of it is what George wanted. So for me, none of that has any bearing. Beyond Star Wars, these days I've really been enjoying the Young Indiana Jones show, what an amazing work George did to get that show up and running! It is almost like the prequels trial run when it comes to the cast and crew -- it just has everyone! Ian McDiarmid, Christopher Lee, Pernilla August, Rick McCallum, Trisha Biggar, Gavin Bocquet, Ben Burtt -- the list just goes on and on (even Carrie Fisher wrote an episode). It's really quite an awesome show and I've never quite seen anything like it, it really stands on its own and has got me more invested in Indy than I ever was. Would love to hear Ingram 's thoughts on the show. How have the rest of you guys been? I've been perusing the threads today and you guys are just as interesting as ever. I still think the name of this forum is just so splendid and great.

Ah, xezene, thank the maker! The prodigal son has returned, welcome back! I feel like the Fellowship when Gandalf returned. I'll check out your projects. We have a thread for the Young Indiana Jones series here. I've been enjoying it for my first time, too.

Welcome xezene, or should I say, welcome back, seeing as your time with the folks of Naberrie Fields seems to predate my arrival on this board. Maybe you should welcome me? Aahaha.
Yes. The Prequels never needed saving. People's perception of them is what needed saving. xD

Welcome Welcome back, xezene . 6 years since you signed up, and 3 years since I made the shout out to you. Welcome back, NF founding farther! What took you so long? The activity rate on this website comes and goes. It was noticeably high during the release of TROS in December 2019 (and Jan 2020) and May-June last year for the airing of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Cryogenic may be able to suggest a few "must-read threads", we've produced several bangers over the years. If you've got any improvement ideas for the forum, please do let us know. Feel free to set up new threads for any topic we may have missed. Youtube has since removed the video clip.
I am noticing quite a lot of that with videos I've posted too, even as recent as the past 6 months. I think we'd do well to take Cryo's cue and record the name of the video and/or a few lines explaining so we know what it was, should it eventually be deleted/made private or whatever.

Somny I think she's genuinely warming to the prequels and her character now. I detect less of what Cryogenic once dubbed "Pissy Portman".
Unfortunately Naberrie Fields doesn't make the cut here, but it is nonetheless intriguing to see her reading internet comments about her career (she's known to stay away from all that, like other SW actors). She gives an interesting vignette about a prop she took home from her time in Star Wars. Starts at 3:43 to 4.45.

I shudder at the thought of her witnessing this forum, LOL.
I also shuddered at that bit about "how Padme was treated in Revenge of the Sith." That tired old cliche. No thanks.

I know, I know, I even set up a thread dedicated to combating these kind of remarks.
You gotta admit, though, it was a cool video. The first ten seconds, where they zoom into the shot of Anakin's hairstyle, all the whilst she's telling her story, that was fun. You can tell by the tone of her voice that she's become a lot more relaxed and enthused about talking about her time working on the PT. Back in say, 2013, she'd never have told such a story (if she did, she'd feel extremely awkward saying it).
"No one's ever asked me to return, but I'm open to it"
Hmmm...
Anakin voice: Liar!

I see on my favourite search engine, DuckDuckGo, that after I type "Naberrie", it will autofill with "Fields", even "Free forums" appearing too. I presume its the same on Google and Bing.
We're getting somewhere, folks!
