Andor is gonna be sick. I have no doubt. You can't fake a trailer like that.

I have no life so I will definitely watch Andor God, I might even slum it by watching Thor Love and Thunder. It’s entertaining, but don’t expect to get even 1 brain cell to think during the film.

Maybe you can wait for the Portman cut

I bet you someone has edited all of the Natalie bits together and posted it on Youtube. I should just watch that and be done with it

Imagine being Hayden Christensen and knowing you f*cked up the the date (or whatever it was) with her. Referring to the real world here, not the fictional stuff.

Imagine living with that for the rest of your whole life, oof
But wait I think someone has wisdom to distil for us...
Or maybe she only looks good.
Oh, a man who speaks from experience?

Or maybe she only looks good. Oh, a man who speaks from experience? I'm arguing from logos, not ethos. I believe chemistry (made up of somewhat quantifiable variables) is essential to a worthwhile relationship. I know of too many who've fallen for looks and ended up quite miserable as a result. I'm also assuming our motives are a touch more distinguished and dignified; being prequelists and all...

Unfortunately we're not beloved by all, so we can't be stand ins for Obi-Wan.

I think Prequelists are more like Qui-Gon Jinn. We know a good thing when we see it (The Chosen One), even though no body else appreciates it.

My sincere condolences to all British members and lurkers of Naberrie Fields on the death of Elizabeth II. And indeed to Canadians, Australians, New Zealanders and all the other Commonwealth nations who had her as their monarch. As the longest serving head of state in the World, and one who started her role well before Star Wars was even an idea, it truly is the end of an era. 70 years is an enormous amount of time in any job.
As prequelists, we all recall the terribly sad passing of Padmé Amidala in our fictional universe. It gives all the rest of us some indication of the nation in mourning for their queen.

Thank you, Arch Duke (how apt that that should be your name in this moment). She was a legend and a whole institution unto herself. We will never see her like again. I'm not a monarchist, but our beloved Queen served so long, with such dignity, stoicism, and grace, she won over millions with her understated personality and her many years of dedicated service. Her passing is very saddening, and as you said, the end of an era. It seems like she has always been around; in my lifetime, even in my parents' lifetime, they have never known any monarch but Queen Elizabeth II. Reigning since 1952, her seventy-year service as Queen not only precedes the inception of Star Wars, but the modern Information Age, the ending of apartheid in South Africa and the civil rights movement in the United States, the space race and much of the Cold War, and the creation of the teenager and the birth of rock 'n' roll. Her reign cuts across a vast swath of human history, and she felt like a constant reassuring presence in our lives; in most respects, she was the ultimate matriarch and surrogate mother/grandmother figure for so many. I, too, thought about the passing of Padme in our prequels today; and, indeed, the quiet resolve of Padme throughout the PT. Much like losing Anakin seemed to destroy Padme and her will to live, the passing of Prince Philip seemed to hasten the Queen's demise. She was clearly no longer herself without her husband of seventy three years at her side, and in the last few months, she had become noticeably frail. Then there were a number of other blows inflicted on her in the past few years, like catching Covid, and dealing with the fallout of Prince Andrew and the damage done by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. Not the most ideal set of stressors for a person who was approaching one hundred years of age. In a way, the passing of the Queen is like losing a member of the family. Indeed, in looks and temperament, the Queen often reminded me of my mother's mother, who passed away in 2015 (just as my mom, oddly enough, bore a resemblance to Princess Diana in her younger years -- and I was staying over at my grandmother's when news of Diana's death poured in almost twenty five years ago to the day; which I can still remember). My sister's middle name is also Elizabeth, partly in honour of the Queen. Last year, we also lost our long-term house cat, whom we named Princess. She herself had something of the loftiness of royalty about her. So there's something quite final and extra poignant about this news for me. Life goes on, but the chill of death is ever present in all that we do; in all that we are or may ever aspire to be. Anyway, to end on a slightly happier note, here is a picture I have long enjoyed -- one that obviously has deeper resonance this evening: Source: www.gettyimages.no/detail/news-photo/queen-elizabeth-ii-meets-director-george-lucas-at-a-news-photo/165541170"King" George and Queen Elizabeth. RIP, Ma'am.

Hahaha, I can assure you I'm a commoner in real life. I wanted a username associated with Naboo (my joint favourite planet with Coruscant), and inspired by Samnz , I came up with it.
I am however descended from one particular Irish King, in fact our most famous one, Brian Boru, but then almost all Irish people are, even if their surname isn't O'Brien (not mine either). Living a very long time ago (1,000 years in his case), and having 10+ children all cleverly married off, usually achieves this. A couple of generations is enough to go from nobility to peasantry. You can see this process in action right now in the title, or lack of, given to Harry and Meagan's child. Their grandchildren will probably be commoners.
Apparently English people are all related to a king you had in the 14th or 15th century. One of those Edwards, if I recall correctly. You'll have heard of this one, you love your rabbit holes after all. Imagine going back in a time machine to assassinate one of these people and the enormous ripple effect it would have? It's a fun one to think about, if also a bit grim.
I'm assuming they'll be a big debate in Australia and New Zealand over the monarchy and even their flag with the Left in power in both countries. I guess it was the constant presence of the ultimate matriarch Elizabeth that put a halt to serious discussions. Trudeau is the kind of person to kneel for the indigenous peoples one day, and the British royals the next day, I doubt Canada will be changing. But that's all for another day.
It's nice that George Lucas got the recognition like that. He deserves every bit of it. King George indeed!

I am also saddened by the passing of the Queen of England. She was what Cryogenic has already written: an institution and a symbol of consistency. When I think of Britain, she is one my first thoughts (alongside David Seaman ) ). Queen Elisabeth II has always been very much loved here in Germany, which might be in part due to the Royal Familiy's German roots and seeing her as a surrogate Queen replacing our own monarchy that failed the country, but most likely because of her decency and for being a personification of reconciliation after World War II. I am very glad to have recently received a golden coin honouring the Queen's platinum jubilee as a gift from Welsh acquaintances. My condolences to all of you who feel the loss.
