Have we ever discussed this deleted scene from ANH, first surfaced at Celebration 2017, which is the first reference to "Sith Lord" in the filmmaking process? General Cassio Tagge refers to Darth Vader as this.
While I'm at it, should we set up a thread for the original film? We don't have one yet, while we do for TESB and ROTJ.

The funny thing is that the blue pill had to be experienced by many, before they could even recognize the red pill for what it is.

It's interesting, when we view the three prequel posters together as one here, they are stunning, they are like a beautiful, elongated fresco. The colours are as lush as the films, and the stately Roman Numerals are front and centre, while "Star Wars" is pressed down a few font sizes. It is a trilogy at a ease, a set of films with nobody to please, only the vision of an artist.
Meanwhile, the sequel posters are jittery, nervous and unsure. The lightsabres loom large, everywhere, even flashier than a PT duel, and you cannot help but wonder what they're overcompensating for. The size of the title "Star Wars" with respect to the subtitle suggests a trilogy riding on coattales.

You're on fire at the moment. This is great. The lack of Drew Struzan is also very obvious in the ST posters. They're much more mechanical. They don't really seem to have much of an identity or any discernible theme. They're so ugly and cluttered with a sense of just splurging and going with whatever sticks, much like the movies themselves. You can tell, with the prequel posters, there was a genuine effort put forth to not only make them look beautiful and pleasing, but also consistent and integrated. Also, I guess I never really noticed till now, but there's a blue lightsaber on every poster, and two on the ROTS one. And the blue saber is off to the side on the TPM and AOTC posters, while it is an interlocking/clashing form on the ROTS poster. Obi-Wan brandishes blue on all three posters, but he doesn't have a rival until he's battling Anakin on the final poster. The prequels are, after all, concerned with growth, maturation, transformation, and brotherly rivalry. That's just one example of how dashing and artistic the prequel posters are. One could also mention the twin-sun lens flare effect on each poster, the use of an orange or ruddy background along with yellows and golds, and Maul becoming Vader. Even the bronzed skin tones of the actors give the prequel posters a classical, Mediterranean/Tuscany feel, enhancing the "continental" quality of the films and their "Greek myth" attributes. Then there's the golden text for the film titles and the way, as you said, the Roman Numerals are emphasised along with the word "Episode" on each. All in all, the PT posters give off an incredible regal vibe, totally absent in the Disney ones, which could just be describing any modern power-fantasy franchise. Star Wars reached its peak under George Lucas. All that once was, all that was formerly achieved, still has yet to receive its due and needs further appreciation and celebration.

Now that's the word I was looking for on describing Anakin in AOTC in recent weeks. They bronzed Hayden up dramatically in that film, didn't they? You really notice in the on-location, natural lighting settings, like the Naboo lake villa. They didn't go as far as making him look orange though, thankfully!

Hayden and Natalie definitely have nice skin, and the soft digital look of Episode II seems to flatter their complexions all the more. On the AOTC poster, however, Hayden is bordering on an orange look. But it doesn't appear obtrusive or unnatural. And, in a way, he's the Jar Jar of AOTC! Those posters are just so masterful.

I'm not usually one to go gaga for lens flare (a trademark of JJ Abrams), but it works a treat on these posters, I must say.
Today blockbuster movie posters have a set look. And people are rightfully meming the chronic lack of originality. While TLJ and TROS may be dull and uninspired compared with those of the PT, they still punch above the God-awful Marvel posters, which smell of everything wrong with modern cinema, though that's hardly a compliment.
I'm definitely with you on the Classical aesthetic on the prequel posters. It wonderfully compliments the films.

Speaking of Marvel, it looks like their VFX artists are having a hard time:

Quite a huge lapse that he would forget about the prequels when he's talking to one of its main stars about Star Wars, isn't it? I mean Padmé wasn't a background character only trivia nerds would know, and doesn't look radically different to the real life actress either.
If Taika directed an episode of The Mandalorian, he's bound to have had some lengthy conversations with Dave Filoni, one of the two showrunners. He'd surely then find out that Filoni made his name off an animated spin-off of the prequels. You would think that would make him a tad more familiar. Maybe rewatch all the Saga films the once when he's considering the visuals he'll be employing.
I'm delighted you got to meet McGregor. I think getting to speak with fans personally has completely changed his outlook.
Do you know if Doug Chiang or John Knoll do any meet and greets or photographs? They had massive contributions, and I'm sure a lot of fans know all about them, even if they were behind the camera.
I enjoyed Thor 4, but I finally realized I don’t like Taika’s style of filmmaking, I really just enjoy Hemsworth in the world of Asgard/the MCU, and I really don’t think he is right for Star Wars.

JJ Abrams, you bastard, Star Wars wasn't enough for you, you had to contaminate real astronomy too!

Yes. They're produced by stars in our own galaxy blocking the light of distant galaxies. The galaxies have real discernible structure (owed to their vast size), but the flaring stars, despite their size in the resultant image, aren't shown at real size. The flaring effect represents the aperture of the optical instrument being flooded with light. That is, local stars are comparatively bright next to distant galaxies, but they're also very small and below the optical resolution or diffraction limit of the telescope. Those stars are kind of screaming, "Look at me", and we're saying back, "Well, yes, we would look at you, but can you stop blinding us first?" The same is true when we look up at the sky with our own eyes. Those pin-pricks of light are mostly stars (a few are planets), but our eyes can't resolve their true size. In other words, if they weren't as intrinsically bright as they are, we wouldn't be able to see them at all; as indeed, we can't for practically every star within the observable universe, save for a pitiful handful within our own galaxy that happen to be relatively close by (literally the only star in the entire universe that appears genuinely disc-like to our eyes is the sun; and it's not a good idea to look directly at the sun). Physics is both really weird and utterly marvellous. More here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airy_disk

Can we start a tradition here where we address each other with chut chut? It would be in place of hello, hi, hey etcetera. It's a reference to how Anakin greets Watto in Episode II, which was from a language the actor helped invent, and it also rolls off the tongue quite nicely.
Eg. Chut Chut, Cryogenic; Chut chut, Smitty; chut chut everyone

I think everyone in the UK is having a taste of Tatooine temperatures today. Boy, is it hot outside right now! UK heatwave: Temperatures rising rapidly as over 40C predictedwww.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-62201793A new temperature record has also been reported in Wales, the part of the UK where I currently reside. And yes, I can attest that it's fantastically hot outdoors at the moment. I'm indoors today where it's cooler, but the air inside is still tight and a little uncomfortable. Heatwave: Wales' hottest day as temperature hits 37.1Cwww.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-62154870

Ready to strap in for Andor, and engage in another mammoth thread of speculation and analysis? Batteries all fully recharged now after a good summer? Just kidding, that was only for Obi-Wan Kenobi, I'm sorry
