I just moved to a new place I Prague and I noticed the Tunisian embassy is across the street from me. It's like having a little Tatooine right in my neck of the woods. You can see their red flag a bit to the left. Which is kind of cool, because I grew up on a large sand dune area and always felt like I was I was living on Tatooine. And the dunes were surrounded by a big forest which was like Endor.

Pretty sad to see what's become of Kanye West the past few years. From such an awesome, world renown rapper to this horrible anti-semite, it's like he's been trying to replicate Anakin's descent into darkness.

Yup. Kanye epically missed the point of the Prequels.

Yup. Kanye epically missed the point of the Prequels. Nah. He got it pretty well. Everything in life/society is about control.

Embracing Trump is the ultimate example of missing the point of the Prequels. So yeah, he doesn't get it.

So his downfall was malevolently plotted by the elders of zion, or something like that, is that it?
There are no excuses for anti-Semitism.
Control is the central theme of the Matrix trilogy, not the PT.

The other night I was at a pub trivia quiz and one question was "Name the movie from the bad description." The description was, "Talking frog convinces son to kill his father. (1980)" And it took me about ten minutes to realize it was ESB. And boy, it really is a bad description. Talking frog, ok. But he does not convince Luke to kill his father, not even in RotJ, really But I'm just glad I got it, at the last second. I never would've been able to forgive myself if I'd missed it. My friend on my team even has a tattoo of Yoda on his arm, and he didn't think of it. If it hadn't been for the year though, I never would have. Although the year did throw me off a little, because first I went with The Shining. Then changed it to The Muppet Movie. And finally the light went on and figured it was ESB.

I finally remember what the lava fight scene in RotS reminds me of.
This game commercial from the mid-90s.
I would get that song stuck in my head all the time.
Now I'm wondering a bit if ILM didn't do the fx for that commercial...

Not only did Hayden Christensen star in the 2000 tv series Higher Ground (yes, you read that right), but after he reveals to his father the reason for all of his emotional and psychological problems, he says, "For the first time in so long, I feel like I can breathe."

Liam Neeson made some spot on comments about the state of Disney Star Wars: variety.com/2023/film/news/liam-neeson-disses-star-wars-hurt-spinoffs-1235526503/amp/
I remember thinking around the time of Solo's release that Star Wars fatigue was going to hit soon. I was at a movie theater where they had just put on display a Chewbacca costume, as they often display things from new movies, and they still had Stormtrooper costumes on display from The Last Jedi. That made me feel like one movie a year was way too much. I debated about it with my dad, who isn't a big Star Wars fan, and he said that Star Wars is too big to fail. That was the common consensus at the time. But now Star Wars feels like permanently damaged goods. God, I remember when The Clone Wars movie and TPM 3D came out. It felt like something special to see SW in theaters. Star Wars without Lucas was never going to stand the test of time.

Anyone else having trouble with Starwarsscreencaps.com? For about a month now I can't get any of the screencap images to load. I don't know if its just my end or what. Sometimes the first page of a movie will load, but when I go to a subsequent page, nothing. Yes. Very frustrating. The site has always suffered from patchy screencaps loading, or not loading, at random from one page to the next, often leaving nearly half the caps or more per page blank. And on occasion I could bring up any number of pages with virtually zero loading issues whatsoever. But as of late the site seems to have lost its shit. Which is unfortunate, as no other archive online is as complete and of high-res quality. Still not working...

Some sources say the early-draft proposed name of Luke's twin was going to be Nelleth and some say Lilith. Anyone know which it was?

I recently assembled a team and went to a Star Wars pub quiz here in Prague. It was a lot fun of course. A great presentation with video clips from the movies/shows with every question up on a big projector screen. And also, we won, which is a nice bonus. We actually only missed one question: who played Zorii Bliss? I think maybe I super-vaguely remember hearing about that back in 2019, but did not retain it at All, and I think most teams missed that one. Overall the questions were all rather quite easy, which I actually didn't like . I was pretty surprised by it too, actually. This quiz was put on by the same people who put on the General Trivia quiz I go to every week, which is the biggest, most popular quiz in Prague. And those quizzes are all pretty difficult, challenging stuff, but in a fun way. I was hoping this would be like that and I even studied up hard all week leading up to it. But the questions were stuff like, "What planet is Chewbacca from?" Also it was about 60% Disney stuff. And out of 40 total questions only 4 were about the PT :/ And actually, what happened was we tied for first but won with the tie-breaker question, which was: How much total screen-time does C-3PO have in the OT? And though I said the rest of the quiz was easy, we got this question with a fairly lucky guess. I wanted to say 42 minutes, just because it's always the answer to everything, but my teammates wanted to go higher and so we compromised with 43. The other first place team said 61. The answer the host had was 47, which is what IMDB says. But it turns out, other sites say 61. Because, I guess, there are two definitions of screen-time. Which the other team explained to us. So I learned something interesting. I think the only tricky question in the main part of the quiz was, "Who was the first to infiltrate Jabba's Palace in the mission to rescue Han?" Because some teams forgot about Lando, who did it before the movie starts. The only other slightly medium-difficulty one was, "Which character's name is mentioned in the opening crawl of Episode IV?" (I've condensed the questions down to their basic essence, from their original, more elaborate form).

One thing that happens at all of these quizzes is that there are games between each round. And one of them is "Guess the face", in which the face of a famous person up on the screen is covered all in black, and slowly, one by one, the host removes a small tile, slowly revealing the face. At any point, if you think you know who it is, you raise your hand and say "Oy!" and the host points to you and you say your guess. And each person can only guess once. If you are correct he reveals the whole image and your team wins a free snack. I've gotten a couple before over the months in the general quizzes. And for this Star Wars quiz I was hoping to get it. And so, for this one, the first tile removed revealed something that looked like part of a hand. The second tile removed was right above that, making it more clearly a hand, but no guesses by anybody yet. Then the third tile removed revealed this grey hair, and the hairline was unmistakable for me, so I raised my hand, said "Oy!" I blanked on the name for a second but finally said '"Christopher Lee" and it was certainly him.

I started a blog. I've been meaning to do so for a while now. It's nothing too fancy. I just felt like I could use a place to dump some of my random thoughts on Star Wars minutia, especially of the prequels. These are all just my interpretations of things, which I like about SW. You can look at things from many different points of view. seekerofthewhills.wordpress.com/2023/03/29/prequel-thoughts-jedi-rave/
