Is it too soon to quip that Light My Fire could be Anakin & Padmé's song?
And is Han Solo just Jim Morrison?

Would Riders on the Storm not be a more apt one?

Anyone else having trouble with Starwarsscreencaps.com? For about a month now I can't get any of the screencap images to load. I don't know if its just my end or what. Sometimes the first page of a movie will load, but when I go to a subsequent page, nothing.

The site has always suffered from patchy screencaps loading, or not loading, at random from one page to the next, often leaving nearly half the caps or more per page blank. And on occasion I could bring up any number of pages with virtually zero loading issues whatsoever. But as of late the site seems to have lost its shit. Which is unfortunate, as no other archive online is as complete and of high-res quality.

There's little point in offering vast galleries of screencaps only for some of them to never load. And now, yes, very few are loading at all. The first page maybe and then you get nothing. It's amazing how useless the Internet still is for offering reliable sharing of media that isn't raw text. This is why I still don't communicate with images as often as I'd like to. It's like we're still in the patchy dial-up era.

Back in the mid '90s -- the infamous dial-up years, the 'Space Jam movie official website' age of that newfangled phenomenon known as the "world wide web" -- I remember as a teenager spending (not-so)relative eons loading up pages of then recently nude Drew Barrymore pics. You have to understand, twenty-year-old DB was something of a salacious, free-spirited pinup girl of her time... and did I mention I was a horny dipshit teenager? Anyways, for those here old enough to remember, an image load would start unscrolling top to bottom first in heavily pixelated form before slowly coming into proper resolution.
Step 1, Load:
Step 2, Focus:
This would take anywhere up to 5 minutes or longer. So to all you Zoomers and Millennials, count yourselves lucky. My original point however was that even these images way back when would eventually still load successfully. You'd think the kids over at starwarsscreencaps.com would by this point be implementing a bit more quality control.
My more important point however is that Drew Barrymore was hot, once upon a time.

Technology blows me away in terms of how primitive it still is. Yeah, I was expecting full VR/AR immersion by now, as well as consciousness-uploading, mind-linking, communication with aliens in far-flung galaxies, and trillions of years of really good, multidimensional cybersex. Instead, to paraphrase Elon Musk, we're still surprisingly stuck hammering away at our clunky, non-quantum-computer devices with thoughts occurring at the breathtaking speed of whatever the meat-stick interfaces we're still saddled with allow. The website is a pile of shit. Nice idea, sure. Horrible implementation. There's little point in offering vast galleries of screencaps only for some of them to never load. LMAO. I remember this pain. That's why it was kind of awesome when a loud Asian dude in my computing class at school once gave me a CD-R full of high-quality desktop wallpaper images of assorted babes of the day. I don't remember Drew Barrymore being amongst them (sadly), but I do remember Cameron Diaz, Shania Twain, and Holly Valance (Felicity in the long-running and recently-axed Australian soap "Neighbours"). My brain is confused. As boob censorship goes, that's at least, ah... mildly satisfying. Oh, Ingram... I'm now imagining Ingram being that kid sharing the porn at school.

I'd just like to be able to rip my movies from disc a lot faster than I can. I wasn't really hoping to talk to aliens, hahaha

As a collector of Star Wars and other things, I was recently very happy to find the 2015 Steelbook editions of the saga in a movie specialty store, which I had been wanting ever since they came out. The discs are the same as the 2011 versions, but it's nice to have them as individual films, and the Steelbook covers are really nice. Nothing can beat the 2011 box set cover in my mind, though. That felt like George's last word on the saga he created.

However, it is easier to have them in single cases if you are watching them a lot.

What really makes the physical release of the saga so valuable, despite having Disney+ where you can watch the films, are the Lucas commentary tracks. Those are weirdly not on Disney+, so whenever I want to watch the films with the commentary, I have to pop in a Blu-ray. Rian Johnson's The Last Jedi commentary is on Disney+, so I wonder why they don't have the Lucas commentaries.

Yeah, I've had my fair share of loading issues with them before, but nothing? For over a month?! They're taking this to a whole new level. But back in the good ol' days, anyone else ever correctly guess exactly which page the image you were looking for was on? Damn, that felt gangsta! Anyways, for those here old enough to remember, an image load would start unscrolling top to bottom first in heavily pixelated form before slowly coming into proper resolution. I'm old enough to remember when Drew Barrymore got up on David Letterman's desk and lifted her shirt up. And I'm that old because I'm the same age as Drew. Fred Savage, too. I feel like we've grown up and gone through life together.

Yeah, I had the issue during the summer. Good to know I'm not alone. I would hope the images we've have posted will be okay, we don't want to be stuck in the ordeal of replacing them.
