I especially like movies by Karel Zeman. He completely blows the distinction between live-action and animated out-of-the-water.

ArchdukeOfNaboo You sound just like my Mother but in all seriousness sorry about this he made some good points then he took a shot at the prequels
You should listen to your mother more, Joe
There's enough negativity in the news for us to be worrying over what some hacks think of the prequels every day.

Yes, I've been looking at the flaws of Disney Lucasfilm as a whole and the lack of intimidating, absolute villains ties in with my criticism that there's not enough intensity. Nothing to make Kids feel like they're watching a serious movie where the results of threats are real.

This is not a place where you should be spending your time jppiper. These are Lucas bashers of old. A YouTuber with "DVD" in his title, with no actual DVD related content, is surely a red flag.

I don't know, I'm surprised to even hear George's name pop up. Up until this it's felt like he's been hidden away in a secluded form of retirement, not wanting to be bothered or disturbed by anything related to the film industry.

He's been routinely popping his head in from time to time. Visited the set on Rogue One. Directed a scene in Solo. He visited the Mandalorian set, and if I'm not mistaken Ahsoka. The only sequel premiere he didn't attend was The Rise of Skywalker. I heard he was consulted during the making of it. Hard to tell exactly what kind of contribution he's had on any of these productions. But he's hardly been missing.

Oh, he does these little visits, very quietly, in his own time, ideally away from the cameras. But he doesn't speak out publicly, the last time we really got that was after TFA. I doubt he was consulted in TROS, they're always throwing things like that out in the rumour mill.
George doesn't want to be disturbed. He's had it with Star Wars he should never have sold out to disney

Says he has prequel rewrites almost finished, so at least somebody can make good Star Wars lmao Well, that didn't take long. LOL. Ah, Doomcock. To be fair to the guy, he's not exactly wrong that Lucas has turned into a money-obsessed, fork-tongued, hypocritical traitor. Siding with a mega-wealthy corporation all the way (or its centrist-leftist agenda), because he has substantial shares in said corporation -- that's our George now, unfortunately. You know what, I take back "fork-tongued". GL, at the least, is a pretty straight-shooter. Well... "mostly". Sadly, when he says "Creating magic is not for amateurs", what's really meant there is "People who back Trump aren't my kind of people" (look into the politics of it all). So, in a way, ol' George is actually being quite consistent with himself. Pursuing money to the hilt, and still somehow clinging onto dem blue-skied San Franciscan liberal values. And, not for the first time, George appears to be playing the long-game here. He's probably moved from pissed to indifferent to what Disney did with the Sequel Trilogy; his major financial stake in Disney (alas) overrides all other considerations. That said, he really ought not to forget what they did. In the Charlie Rose interview he did in 2015, he described the movies as his children; and, of course, he memorably characterised Disney as the "white slavers" of the entertainment world. Although, to be fair, you could tell from his body language that he was uncomfortable with what he said the moment he realised he'd said it, and a retraction (or clarification -- call it what you will) was soon issued. Gotta keep on good terms with the bigwigs in charge of the money-making machine. Perhaps Star Wars was always a means to an end for our dear Daddy Lucas.

Cryo returns from his self imposed exile!!!
Anyway, I wouldn’t put too much stock into this kind of PR statement- presumably those who challenge Iger are even worse than him so George chose to stick out for the guy? I don’t know. I’m not a finance guy so maybe I’m wrong here, but 4-5 billion dollars is not the kind of cash most people have so selling those shares and wiping your arse clean from the stain of Darth Mickey is not… the easiest thing.
With his white slavers comment, we know that he mostly regrets what has happened but now has to live with it.

Eh, it's fine. Lucas chose his camp long ago. So long ago in fact that for him here and now to issue any formal statement contra would be to break from a certain identity buried deep within the Mesozoic ice core of his psyche as, yes, a Bay Area '60s lib. He's only human after all, and when men wade into their twilight years their priorities dwindle down to only the most practical, that being family and investments, generally speaking. So he backed Lord Iger of Northumbria over the invading Viking King Peltz. Okay. Of course he did. What are we really talking about here... what would any neighboring elder Welsh vassal do? If it's a matter of artistic integrity concerning the greater good for Lucasfilm/Star Wars then maybe he's just being practical on both ends. Maybe he likewise deems said IP too big a machine now to be righted by any one individual. I mean, who is Peltz again? He's just another philanthropist who at 81 is even older than Lucas himself. Sure, the guy's evidently a sharp hedge fund strategist who well into his fifties sired blonde babe Nicola Peltz—points for Chadness. But swapping one 'big money' woke businessman for another only comparably less woke hardly strikes me as the stuff of miracles, as if Star Wars would then reemerge as a franchise of its once, now fabled, singular vision. The entire industry (among industry international) is compromised to an extent that's just...well... it's going to be a generational shift in (pop)culture at large before we can really start to bank on, ahem, making Star Wars great again. It was there. I had to do it.
Oh and, hey, Cryo. What was it like being Ben Gunn'd on a desert island? Hoping you made the most of it. Converse with any ancestors or spirit animals? Wed yourself a pretty island girl sporting a clam shell brassiere? Might as well lie and say yes. I won't know the difference.
