I'm not necessarily a strict stickler for continuity (I've defended many prequel retcons), but I do care when it undermines the spirit of the story. I can't imagine any possible way that having Obi-Wan and Vader clash again before A New Hope doesn't seriously undermine the significance of that reunion.
Sure, they had Anakin and Dooku fight several times in between Episodes II and III and it didn't seriously undermine the drama of their last rematch (it might have made Anakin's line about his power doubling a bit silly, but that's it). But I think this is something of a very different nature, in terms of its importance to the story.

These are interesting because World Between Worlds time travel and a character surviving being thrown down a pit are plot elements at work in the finale of TROS.

Clone wars had nothing to do with Disney. They simply allowed it to finish (after cancelling it in the first place). They forgot about R1 and Solo Besides, wasn't Lucas going to do a live series as well? Disney didn't revitalize anything. They acquired and IP that was in a pretty good shape (especially with young people) and maybe needed occasional movie release to keep going forward. From what I read, they're not even close to recouping the money they spent. /rant

The problem with bringing back dead characters all the time is that it kills all the tension. I'm ok with Fett since we don't actually see him die and he was a skilled bh, after all. Maul was cut in half - it's as if Lucas knew he'd be popular with fans and wanted to remove the possibility of bringing him back (but probably relented under pressure like Conan Doyle). And Palpatine's return is even dumber.

As expected. I've had enough of that over the past 22 years.

The article culminates with the suggestion that violence = iconic and memorable. For some, this is very much true. For others, it is not. I'm perfectly happy in the latter category.

Somny What about the jab at his NO Moment from ROTS?
Tired move.
Darth Vader is supposed to be a fearsome but pathetic monster like Frankenstein's creation. He's not an American bad-ass. I understood this before discovering the "Noooooo!" moment as an homage to the 1931 Frankenstein film and appreciated it as the near-exact reference it is in a rewarding light afterward.

I've almost always thought that final visual paired perfectly with Obi-Wan's admonition to Anakin in AOTC: "Anakin, how many times have I told you?! Stay away from power couplings!"
In all, a damn fine curtain close on Hayden's character and contribution.
