May 3rd-5th, 2024 and look at that beaut of a poster! Who's going? I certainly am. My previous theatrical viewings of TPM (once per occasion): - December 2015 - TFA marathon
- February 2012 - 3D release
- December 1999 - Charity re-release
- May 1999 - Opening day

I'd go, but I doubt it will be available where I live.

In Lucaspuristan. it's beyond the Outer Rim, just south of the Rishi Maze.
The Republic doesn't exist out here. We must survive on our own.

If it plays at my dinky little local theatre, I will go forth and enjoy.

I hope it comes where I live. I'll travel if I have to. I will probably cry the whole time.
I saw it three times in the theater, that I can remember, in 1999.

Ah, you escaped TLJ and TROS. Good on you. They were traumatising experiences for many of us, and of course TFA was hyped into oblivion at the time.
I wouldn't mind going to see this 25th anniversary release. I will be keeping it on my radar. I've little time for gimmicky 3D.

Not quite. I was present opening day for both TLJ and TROS. I just didn't partake in the marathon viewing of the Lucas saga on those occasions. Although, my TLJ screening was paired with TFA beforehand. Hardly traumatized. I had as much a good time as the kids in the booster seats.

Well, perhaps not literally traumatising, but in the sense that a film leaves such a terrible taste in your mouth, you bemoan the lacking of the Lucas magic and that then motivates you to wax lyrical about it on NF.
I didn't leave TFA as infuriated as many others in this forum have, like Subtext for instance. It was my first time seeing Star Wars in the cinema and there was a novelty to that. TLJ and TROS were the painful ones.
I've never done a marathon viewing. I did however sit through plenty of three hour+ films in 2023 without much bother, so maybe I am ripe for it.

Quarter of a century... goddamn it. I'd already lost my virginity when The Phantom Menace first came out.
No bullshit—I'm hearing that sax in my head more and more these days.
Anyways, I think I've seen Episode I, uh, five times in theaters..? Yeah, that sounds about right: four viewings upon its initial theatrical run and once more with the 2012 3D re-release. So well after a decade, sure, I'm down for another cinema venue experience. I'm curious what the attendance and general audience/fanbase atmosphere will be like this time around, post-ST and overall Disneyfied Star Wars in particular; I wonder if the promise of a Prequel installment on the big screen will be prism'd in a different, more welcoming light; if it'll come off more than ever before like a kind of fine wine.

I have realized that my theatre probably won't screen this because they didn't screen ROTJ last year.

I have realized that my theatre probably won't screen this because they didn't screen ROTJ last year. Unfortunately, probably the same for me. They didn't release RotJ here, which I was very disappointed by. But luckily I got to se TPM and in 3D no less back in 2012. Classic Lucas Star Wars on the big screen is always a treat.

Also, sounds like the OT will be in theaters May 4th and the PT on May 5th. Release order won this year lol I saw something on social media about this but it's yet to be shared on the OS - something so momentous... Highly suspect.
