Going through some Korngold film scores again and came across the Kings Row soundtrack. Wow, either Lucas was using this as a temp track or Williams was influenced by it on his own. Good stuff.

Here is a video detailing some of the contents on the fantastic Star Wars: Episode I Insider's Guide disc. It's hard to find information on it and there are only a couple videos on YouTube. What I was surprised about was that the disc describes the Star Wars films as "The Skywalker Saga." I had thought that that was just a rebranding done by Disney, but I guess it has its roots here.

If Padmé had become a musician.

That's the best piano playing I have ever heard. Thanks for sharing.

I agree. And the music has a very RotS quality to it. Or, it sounds like music Padmé would write in the afterlife. It's beautiful, but sad.

And then I come across this by Aldo Di Gennaro. Reminicscent of Greedo, but I think it was made after SW.

EP V UHD VHS 4:3 Where I would otherwise, as a normative, be against such an aggressive artificial color-push, here it oddly works. A lotta things about this work, counterintuitively. I'm Ingram and I don't need any goddamn reminder on the cinematic excellence of this legacy Star Wars sequence. However... The little retro-askew above stands unique in how it polishes the gem by gleaming the cube. The square-crop blocking renders compositions at once clumsy and quixotic; the "Topaz enhanced" videograph steers imagery into some unrefined dreamy abstract, as if this is what remembering Star Wars would be like today if all traces of its media were somehow purged, say, circa 1990. Aforementioned super crayola makes this feel like a cheap, yesteryear hologram toy prize pulled from a cereal box.

I like it. It's like a comic book that ran through the printer as the colors were going a little funky.
