It made my Prequel Fanboy heart SO HAPPY when Boba said that one line... It was completely venerative. Loved that too!

My personal theory at the moment is that Mando is going to train Grogu, even though Mando isn't a Jedi himself. Dropping it here so that I can be proven wrong in the future.

I agree that Din will play a larger role in Grogu's development. It's not called 'The Mandalorian' for nothing. I doubt any additional Jedi are simply going to show up in response to Grogu's beacon signal and say, "we'll take it from here."

I think I have already been proven half-wrong, a user who goes by the name Lutz, over at Blu-ray.com makes a very good point:
I'm not sure if Grogu's Force training will come from Yaddle, but the idea of Grogu becoming a Mandalorian and wielder of the darksaber makes so much sense. Therefore, I was half-right, half-wrong because Grogu will require Mandalorian training, which will be Din's domain. We still need a Jedi for the other half of Grogu's training, though.

That may be the fate of Grogu but I doubt we'll actually see it. It may takes decades for this species to reach the level of development needed to satisfy that visual, as awesome as it is. However, I could see a flash-forward moment at the very end of the series that could work.

I agree we won't see it on the show. All they can do is set the character down that path. However, there's always the possibility of a sequel series with grown up Grogu.

Well, that would definitely gel with this new trend of granting everything under the twin suns its own series. Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Bad Batch, Diego Luna...

The series, particularly this second season, is enjoying quite a positive reputation among some close friends and, it seems, the broader fan base. Anyway, new episode tonight! Alas, only two left but after the surprising events and forged alliances of last week's episode, I'm nothing short of thrilled for what comes next!

Seismic-freakin'-charges. That is all, ladies and gentlemen! I came here to comment on precisely this, but I see I don't have to!

Let's face it, though. Those seismic charges didn't sound as beastly as the charges from Episode II.

To be fair, nothings as beastly as AOTC. Fixed.

To be fair, nothings as beastly as AOTC. Fixed. I couldn't agree more. I had seen it in theaters during its release (of course) but when I received the DVD as a Christmas gift in 2002 (at age 16) and subsequently spent quality alone time with the film on my DVD-ROM-equipped PC with a pair of headphones - I was never the same.
AOTC is a revelation hidden in plain sight. The callbacks to the film in TM are an intensely satisfying touch for me.

But yes -- AOTC is an outstanding addition to the saga! Age 16, eh? That was my age when I saw TPM at the cinema here in the UK. I was actually Anakin's age when I went to see AOTC. Which makes sense. Definitely a revelation hidden in plain sight. Love that wording. It has a ton of callbacks to TPM -- and all are justified and well-motivated within the plot. From the moment we see that Amidala is using her decoys again, and then when those yellow N-1 starfighters go tumbling off the landing platform during the explosion of the main ship, you know an epic storyline is unfolding.

Hahaha. I'll admit, for me, nothing is as beastly as ROTS. That was the movie the changed my life and cured me of some of my wrong-headed teenaged delusions. As George Lucas once said of Filoni: "He had a lot of bad ideas that had to be purged from his mind."
Oh that's neat. I was Anakin's age when I saw TPM. I remember thinking it was pretty damn cool that a kid was the hero of a Star Wars movie. Which means I've never subscribed to the idea that Kid Anakin ruins Star Wars.

I was 7 when I saw my first Star Wars film in the theatre, Return of the Jedi. And it was over the next two years that my SW fandom went from about a 6 or 7 to an 11.
And though I was 23 when The Phantom Menace came out, I completely related to and enjoyed young Ani for many reasons including it feeling like a shout out to my pre-tween SW loving childhood.
I was shocked, saddened and dissapointed when my peers began poodooing on it all.
I also loved Attack of the Clones. However I did not like Reveng of the Sith much. But looking back it was only because of wrong-headed 29 year-old delusions that needed purging.

Well, it's been a great pleasure (and joy) keeping up with this series these past eight weeks. Tonight is the season finale!
As usual, I'll be up late to watch it and then I'll visit this thread immediately afterward to debrief with a quick remark about anything outstanding. Perhaps a bit more given tonight's exceptional circumstance. And I of course look forward to anyone else deciding to join me either tonight or in the coming days with any thoughts, in whatever quantity, about tonight's episode, this past season, the series as a whole, etc.
Anyway, I hope this episode rocks our socks and, in the spirit of the late Kuill, "I have spoken." Enjoy!

Bug nuts.
If you haven't seen tonight's episode but are planning to? The sooner, the better. To preserve the major surprises. Whoa.
More like... WHOA!
