"Mmm. Allowed a PA to enter frame, director Carl Weathers has. How embarrassing. How embarrassing." It's JJ looking for another job.

I liked Ahsoka since the beginning, so if she shows up in the next episode it is gonna be a big deal for me.
I always took great glee in watching Anakin have to put up with everything from Ahsoka that he normally dishes out to Obi-Wan. =)
Do any of you remember that one panel from a past Star Wars Celebration where Dave Filoni unveiled the Ahsoka novel? He said something very telling during that panel: "I don't want Ahsoka to just be an animated character." I remember thinking: "I see your long game, Mr. Filoni."
There is also that one moment in the Mortis Trilogy where Future Ahsoka warns Ahsoka, "You have no future if you remain his student." In hindsight, that's clearly Dave speaking to Ahsoka and telling her: "Come with me if you want to live!"
Now Ahsoka is all grown up and about to make her live-action debut. Filoni's master plan is about to pay off and I'm so proud of him.

I've been on-board with TCW since the feature film's release in August 2008 and have loved all Filoni and company have done with Ahsoka since then. It's been a fun ride and it seems far from over! Color me thrilled!

After last week's unexpected deviation in Din's journey, I feel like I'm at a craps table.
*kisses dice* "Come on... Ahsoka!"

And if that's all we see of Temuera Morrison's Boba Fett, I will feel extremely short-changed. He has to do more than a simple turn-and-glare. Has to!

*kisses dice* "Come on... Ahsoka!" From what I understand, Filoni wrote and directed the next episode, so this is a strong candidate for Ahsoka's debut. However, I recall seeing a list of episode titles a while back and Episode 7 was titled, "The Wizard." I think Rick Famuyiwa is directing Episode 7, though. Maybe Ahsoka appears in both episodes? Either way, tomorrow may be the big day! I'll watch the episode with my mom at lunch time before she heads off to work. Then I will be coming on here to geek out with you.

My little, weekly pocket of pure joy and escape. It's a small price to pay.

I guess I'll wait a circulation or two before I offer up some commentary with spoilers. It was a unique episode in tone and rather revelatory in story. All deftly handled by Filoni. Very satisfied.
And Ahsoka comes across marvelously.

That episode was indeed absolutely gorgeous. The production design, cinematography, thematics, etc.
The Kurosawa fanboy in me is on edge right now!!!!

That episode was indeed absolutely gorgeous. The production design, cinematography, thematics, etc. The Kurosawa fanboy in me is on edge right now!!!! All of those aspects had a salient Eastern quality to them which I admired. The caste-like organization of the forest planet's city also added to that air. And I loved Ahsoka's intro! Right at the start, confidently rolled out on an action beat. Very effective! But for all the fun of the action throughout, it was nicely balanced by what I believe is the heart of the episode - the very calm and quiet scenes of Ahsoka addressing the Force and Grogu's potential training. Beautifully realized! One issue I had, however, was the dramatic difference between animated Ahsoka vs. live-action Ahsoka when it comes to combat. Animation affords much greater speed, economy and, frankly, a greater sense of ballet to her movement. In live-action, all of that is perceptibly compromised. This was only a tiny gripe that floated to the surface for me but it reminded me of an 'Every Frame a Painting' video essay on Satoshi Kon, a Japansese animation director, where Kon is cited favoring the demonstrated advantage of speed in animation compared to live-action: But all in all, a highly enjoyable episode with many exciting revelations and a stunner of a name-drop which suggests an even greater tightening together of the Disney-LFL SW universe.

Filoni certainly didn't make us wait very long, now did he? I feel like he leaned pretty heavily into the Princess Mononoke influence when Ahsoka attacks the village, which really reminded me of San's attack on Irontown: And, as I recall, the humans do a number on the forest in Princess Mononoke as well. So yeah, not just Kurosawa vibes from the latest episode. EDIT: I wouldn't mind seeing Hayden do a scene with Rosario as a Force Ghost. I call it the Reconciliation of Skyguy and Snips!

Of course! Princess Mononoke! The wolves!
And Anakin showing up anywhere is always welcome. Thankfully, he's all but confirmed for the Obi-Wan series.

It's that time of the week again! I have no idea what to expect from this week's episode. However, I know that Robert Rodriguez has directed an upcoming episode but my guess is they saved him for the season finale. In any case, "Exciting is hardly the word I would choose!"

Wrongo! Our dear Rebel Without a Crew directed tonight's episode.
And wow - so much fan service! They should start charging an extra cover charge for it.
