Which of these ROTS trailers do think is the best? The standard here from AD edits is pretty damn high! Way better than the official one.
My favourite is Rise of Skywalker Style (last one), with modern trailer #1 (first one) a close second. The second one is definitely the weakest of the bunch.

Lots of good trailers from fans out there, for the films themselves and new concepts. The following one is the latter and it's a real treat!
Lord Vader: A Star Wars Story

Sequels:

One can never have enough ROTS trailers! The following came out in May and already has one million views.

It's interesting to see how many shots universally get used in most trailers. I guess some are just tailor made for it; iconic, wow-factor, expository without being too expository. What it comes down to is how each editor uniquely uses them to convey his/her particular narrative. Which angle they want to take. Which story beats they want to highlight. And which tantalizing aspects they want to impress upon the viewer. I mentioned in the Personal Projects thread, trailers underwent a paradigm shift around the turn of the century, with TPM taking things to a whole new level. SW seems to lend itself well to trailer making. Fan-made and otherwise. Seems nowadays though, movies are made just to make bombastic trailers. I feel like the first thing that takes place is a team sits down and brainstorms trailer shots. Then the rest is an afterthought. As far as AD_Edits' trailers: I like how the Modern Trailer (2020) gets right to the heart of Anakin's fears, Palpatine's manipulation and the growling rift between Anakin and the Jedi; the three pillars of Anakin's turn. With the visuals including both exciting action and heartfelt emotions all ramping up in a steady crescendo. The audio clip from Maul is a nice touch. Not quite something I'd do, but including external sources is his m.o. - more power to him. He's also got some clever, theory-inducing, but not too theory-inducing juxtaposition of clips His Modern Trailers from 2018 were quite good, but the one from 2020 seems to flow the smoothest. I too think the 4th one is his best from his 2018 quadrology. He seems to excel in short form. And I like the Pink Floyd usage, a band I associate with SW quite a bit. The 3rd one for sure got too ambitious and too busy. And one thing I can't condone is using "Coming this Christmas" in a trailer for a GL film The Dune Style trailer is similar to his 2020 trailer but a little longer, allowing him to put more emphasis on Anakin's fears and use some lesser-used shots. He seems to have succeeded in giving RotS an epic Frank Herbert-esque vibe. Are you AD_Edits?

This one has my heart. Its freneticism, music choices and embrace of the entire saga (yes, even the ST) thrill me like few others have. It also helps that the editor is a seasoned pro.
