Hello there!
In this thread, user are encouraged to discuss any interests they may have in Starwarsian-themed video games. Feel free to start other threads for other genres or franchises.
Have any of you played the Star Wars Episode I: Racer? I hear it will be re-released for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch this month, and that the "game holds the Guinness record for the best-selling sci-fi racing game having worldwide sales of 3.12 million beating other series like Wipeout and F-Zero."
I'm not personally big into video games, but it sure would be fun to compete against a few of you at podracing

I loved that game. It was my first own n64 game. They had outtake dialogue from the movie. I don't really play video gamez anymore.

I played a lot of 'Episode I: Racer', but I had the superior PC version. A few years ago I bought it again on GOG, since it's one of those games that was a pain to get it running on modern systems.
Same with 'Rogue Squadron'.

I have quite fond memories of the Revenge of the Sith videogame- I had it for Playstation 2. Was quite the blast! It even had an alternate ending in which Vader kills Obi-Wan and the Emperor and declares himself Emperor

I have played so many Star Wars games it’s crazy.
Atari - Empire Strikes Back Nintendo - Super Star Wars ROTJ PC - X-Wing Alliance PC - Dark Forces PC - Jedi Knight Dark Forces II All 3 Rogue Squadron Games across multiple platforms PlayStation - Star Wars Episode 1 Racer PC - Galactic Battlegrounds PlayStation - Jedi Starfighter PC - Knights Of The Old Republic I and II The Old Republic MMORPG Battlefront 2004 and 2005 and 2015 and 2018 Empire at War Rebellion The Force Unleashed Star Wars Galaxies MMORPG Shadows of the Empire Force Commander Bounty Hunter (Jango Fett video games) Fallen Order The Phantom Menace Revenge Of The Sith
Video Ganes are my guilty pleasure. I don’t watch much tv, exceot fir movies, so playing video games is my winding down time. I’m currently playing Star Wars Battlegrounds 2 and the Final Fantasy 7 remake. I bought Falken Order but really couldn’t get into it. Too much jumping and climbing parkour type stuff. Not my cup of tea.

I never played Jedi Academy. I did start to play Jedi Outcast, but, just like Fallen Order I could not get into it and did not get very far into it. In fact I still have it somewhere around my house lol. If I recall there was something about the combat mechanics that drove me nuts. But it's been so long I am not sure if I am confusing it with another game. I remember playing Dark Forces back when it came out at my friends house and was instantly addicted to it and when out the next day to get my own copy. I wasn't as impressed with Dark Forces 2, which also may have soured my interest in Jedi Outcast, which if memory serves me right was a continuation of the Dark Forces series. By far my favorite game has always been Star Wars Galaxies. I really wish Sony Online Entertainment would allow us to access and download our accounts. I played that game for years and acquired so much in that game for it all to just disappear when they closed it down. I also really enjoyed Star Wars Rebellion, which was a strategy/war game that was so much fun to play against others. I did not like Battlegrounds because it was less about strategy and more about speed building an army to attack first, rather than developing a strategy over time as you built an army and defenses. I also never played the Force Unleashed 2, and I don't think I ever finished the first one. I can't seem to remember how it ended, so I have a feeling I never finished it lol.

Jedi Academy, in terms of gameplay, is a more refined version of Jedi Outcast and to this day has the best lightsaber combat gameplay of any Star Wars game. The online is still active to this day. This and Battlefront II are two classics that I still play online from time to time.
Star Wars Galaxies was great as well. I didn't play very often though, and I'm one of the few people that didn't mind the changes that came with the last two expansions. I know there are emulators out there, but it's not the same as it was back then, and my interest is gone too.
I never got into the strategy games. Battlegrounds at least felt familiar since it's based on Age of Empires. Rebellion never raised my interest and Empire at War had some strange mechanics that I didn't find that appealing.
The Force Unleashed is okay, it has interesting tech behind it. The second one has more polished gameplay and graphics, but unlike the first one, the story is subpar. Still, it will go down in history as the last game developed by LucasArts.
One Star Wars game that I own and never played is Republic Commando.

I've never been much of a gamer either, but I would play any and all SW video games. Especially [Pod] Racer. I played that endlessly. Man, that last race in championship mode is hard.
I also loved Bounty Hunter, the Jango game. Dang, that was a good one.
And yes, I'm an old school Nintendo SW player, too. I even remember the sit-in Star Wars arcade game.

Here is the sit-in cabinet arcade game from back in the day. This video makes it look easier than it was. At least for grade school age me. youtu.be/iXOTExRQJSE
