Great interviews here. The interviewer is so lovely, fierce respect for Hayden.

The bromance is strong with this one.
As the ROTS novel put it most elegantly:
And again...
It's the apprenticeship at the heart of the mythos. In their friendship, in their trials as Jedi, in their time as generals on the frontline of the Clone War, in their rivalry, in their catastrophic falling out, we have a tale for the ages.

excuse my language but...
IT'S FUCKING HAPPENING The bromance is strong with this one. I'd hit "love" on that image if I could. Wonderful photograph. And in surprisingly decent quality. But I'm still trying to figure out what the hell the two of them are wearing. Have I missed the "baggy overcoat" and "too short pants" look or something? Strange clobber! Ewan's also wearing some pretty thick lifts on his shoes there. Posture problems -- or just trying to appear as tall as our boy Hayden?

Oh, I didn't notice that. Eagle eyed, you are we all talk like Yoda at times
I'm sure Christensen is a good three inches taller than McGregor, when standing up straight. It would appear more, but that's the illusion you give off when you're slim. Similarly, if you're chubby and above 6 feet, nobody will notice your height.
Another dynamic is who you're standing next to. In ROTS, Padmé is like 5 nothing, so it's going to make Anakin look like a towering figure in the apartment scenes. Now against Mace he's a little shorter, but you rarely get to see them stand beside each other, so you don't take much notice. Similarly, if Padmé is on scenes on her own or sitting down, you won't notice her shortness, as she's very slim. If she were chubby and short, you would.
I'd suspect Christensen and Portman both have fast-burning metabolisms, like I do, and this certainly aids in keeping weight off. I noticed this a lot during the lockdown, when the sports clubs I participate in were all shut down, and I had lengthy inactivity periods. Running on your own is no fun, so I didn't do it.

Yeah, Natalie Portman is pint-sized. Lucas got the casting right there. Carrie Fisher, of course, was also pretty short. Indeed, in all her queen regalia, you never really notice her true height, and almost anybody would look short next to Liam Neeson. That takes care of Episode I. In the other episodes, she never appears all that small, even though she is. And yes, to the agree her shortness is noticeable, it only enhances the height of Hayden.
Yeah, well... The secret to long life may be to limit calories. I certainly eat enough, but I've always been lean. 6'3" (1.91 m) and I weigh around 75 kilos (165 lbs). Some people used to say I'd "fill out" as I headed closer to 40, but I never really have. Like Hayden and Ewan, I look young for my age. Unlike those guys, however, I don't have all my hair anymore. Although, is it just me or is Hayden receding?
So that's why he has that weird overcoat on? LOL!

Darth Vader occupying Theed, had he not been scarred on Mustafar: "Well, if it works..."Good question. Would an able-bodied Vader really look much different? It seems logical that he would eventually drop the Jedi attire. Something in all black like this, but with a hood, might be it. Hair too good for a Sith though. Don't Sith tend to loose their looks, and go grey in the face? Shame that Vader couldn't get the Kylo Ren deal - be a bad guy, yet still keep your fine head of hair.

Yeah, it's all relative. You mostly notice it within the context of other actor's presence. As a filmmaker, you'd have to pay particularly close attention to your smaller actors if they're in a leadership role, as Padmé was in TPM. If you get the framing wrong here, and end up accentuating rather than dampening his or her petiteness, it's definitely not going to convey your message, or worse, could give it a comical tone.
Of course, its very different with a romantic plot. There, ideally, you want the male to be comfortably taller.
BOTH our boys! We couldn't ask for a more killer photo shoot, they look smashing. Hopefully the media attention only grows from this.
Meanwhile on Prequel Twitter...

Man, I'm so happy these guys are having such a great time on the press tour. Yes, I know their loaded and all, but think about all the hours of entertainment they've given us, think of all that they brought to life that has captivated us, and enriched our imaginations for so many years. They didn't simply act in a few films, they brought a whole world to life, and one we continue to be mesmerised by. It's wonderful to see them back together, and we the fans played a role in it. As another commenter mentioned, we should savour it.
I'd love if we got that pre-fight (weigh-in) boxing pose, where the two stare each other down for the cameras. The photo in my earlier post, with the 2 stormtroopers at either side, is so almost there, just needs a bit of acting where they put on their serious personas. Here's some examples of what I mean:
I love selling this series as a grudge match, as a rumble in the jungle, rematch of the century. While, admittedly, it's unlikely that Obi-Wan will have an antagonistic attitude to his former pupil at the beginning (he believes he's dead, presumably), we all know that there's going to be a fight at some point, so why not? A few staredown photos for the press would REALLY grab casual people's attention, it cannot but help. They just need to pretend to be antagonistic for 10-20 seconds, I mean come on, they're actors, it's their bread and butter. They can quickly go back to being buddies in the interview studios. The staredown photos wouldn't have to be used everywhere anyway, just where it works for the marketing.
Lucasfilm marketers/publicists, I hope you're reading!

Sorry folks, if you're getting fed up of the press material, but we haven't seen these guys together in years, and who knows if we ever will again. We're going to go full blast on this, no apologies. We will do the same if we ever get Portman back.
This one really winds back the clock. This is exactly the kind of interview I was calling for, and I wasn't convinced we'd get it. But we are! Look at those smiles, they're thrilled to be back to Star Wars.

I have to say: I've never thought we'd get to see something like this and this kind of promotion for a show that is so Prequel related. It's especially lovely to see how they proudly present Hayden, showing that Disney is really aware of the fact that times have changed. I wonder what JJ Abrams' face looks like when he sees this... He was pretty mean back then towards the Prequels, the Maker (Happy Birthday, George!) and the actors. Now, his movies are the ones who get bashed (which is not something that I enjoy, but that's another story).
Does anyone agree with me that the length of Hayden's hair might support the idea that we are goting to seeing flashbacks? It's longer than Anakin's Padawan haircut in AOTC but shorter than his haircut in ROTS.

Looking at some personal Lucasfilm Twitter accounts, they're loving this press tour too.
I'm now hearing that Hayden and Ewan weren't put together for the Episode III tour? Can someone speak more about this?

We are definitely getting flashbacks, and I'm happy to bet against anyone who thinks otherwise. On one level, it seems obvious enough, why bring him back at all, when you can use another actor as in the case of Rogue One. When you hear it from the horses mouth, it's another. Let me quote you McGregor in a recent EW weekly podcast (Dagobah Dispatch):
I love how McGregor keeps referencing Episode III in this press tour, and it's so natural, as if he can't explain his character in the new series without it. This is a very different approach to Disney in the past, with that strained lip service, and though you can may be able to give Abrams and Johnson a pass for their films chronological distance to the prequels, you can't do so with Rogue One, and it seemed that they too were keen on distancing themselves. McGregor may not realise it, but he's encouraging the public and casual fans to rewatch the prequels.

If these two weren't put together for the ROTS press tour, then now, ladies and gentlemen, we have our justice.
Here's one just with Hayden. This might be one of the best interviews I've ever seen of him. Finally an interviewer who asks pertinent questions, way more serious tone, and is genuinely interested in the actor's career. Do watch the the end, the response to the last question is rather moving.
On Darth Vader in the timeline:
Same great interviewer, but with Ewan
