A thoughtful article by ladyfromplanetx on the double standards of the Razzies by withdrawing the "worst actress" award for Ryan Kiera Armstrong. Where were they when Jake Llyod's life was being ruined?
It prompts me to open up a general discussion on the merits of this most bizarre of award ceremonies.

Those who went after Jake back in 1999 should be ashamed of themselves and be charged of child abuse. It shocks me in so many ways that Ron Howard was apparantly the only famous person on the planet who stood up to this toxic behaviour of both fans and media. They ruined the life of a young human being full of joy.

I don't know the detailed history, but having to deal with bullshit associated with Star Wars wouldn't be helpful to a person already suffering from a mental illness. The PR fallout is likely to be an exacerbatory factor here. |

I was facebook friends with him around 2010, before he took a turn for the worse. I didnt see any harassment online by then. But whatevs.

But whatevs. Yeah, I guess the assumption might have been that everything added up over time, even if the blow back over TPM had ended by then. Either way. Picking on a kid is bullshit regardless of the mental condition he is in. |

I don't think it was. The RLM reviews of circa 2011 would bring a whole new life to the prequel bashing complex, capturing the geek media, which was becoming increasingly influential in broader pop culture. This would time well with what Stamp said.
I'm still awaiting the Razzies giving Jake Lloyd an apology. Never forget.
