This is my favorite page from the Star Wars manga, and I'll translate the text to English: "Lord Vader, your life has been full of suffering, hatred, rage, fear and loss. By a twist of fate, you were born a slave on Tatooine. The Jedi, who wanted your innate powers for themselves, separated you from your mother and home. Before full age, you lost your first master Qui-Gon Jinn... And your mother, who died at the hands of the sand people... As well as your right hand. You thought you had lost everything, but more was to come. Because of your second master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, you lost your dear wife, Padme... The rest of your limbs and almost your life. You gave up your life as a Jedi and Anakin Skywalker and became Darth Vader. I remade you, better than before, and gave you the opportunity to restore order to the galaxy, which had taken so much from you. Don't forget... That you were my chosen one. Don't let your concentration break."

I read some additional Clone Wars books and the so called Imperial 501 and Order 66. Meh. I'm amused to see that they have higher ratings in Goodreads than for example, Wild Space which is 10 times better and is for the same period, not to mention the already favorite books I cited in previous posts. However I see from where comes all this "Jedi were all rotten to the core and they deserved it" and let's not begin with the whole worshiping of the Mandalorian way of life which I fail to understand in the books, movies (recently TV series) and among the fandom. These books are full with Gary Stues among the clones and Mandalorians and the Jedi come as stupid, haughty and in the end, bad people. Is like Disney adopted this Karen Traviss attitude completely (I like the writing of the other Karen, Karen Miller). Some books that are still not mentioned in the thread (I think) but are also interesting to read: Shatterpoint by Stover (a book about Mace Windu), Coruscant nights-first and to a degree second instalment by Michael Reaves (a book about survivors of Order 66 who still live on Coruscant). I must admit that with few exceptions I prefer the books of the/related to the prequel era, even the novelizations are better, in my opinion, ROTS is best, followed by maybe Episode 1 (even the young adult novelization of Episode 1 is good). I have read some updated (post PT, but before Disney) novelizations of the original trilogy and I liked them, especially ROTJ but I haven't read them in English so I'm not sure if the translation has something to do with that.
