For anyone who hasn't seen it, I recommend Brian De Palma's 1974 film Phantom of the Paradise. It's an absurdist, oddball, comedy musical, but what's intrigued me for so long is that it's basically the story of Anakin and Palpatine... long before even ANH. And remember De Palma is not only a friend of Lucas' but also helped write the opening crawl for ANH.  |

I finally got around to watching it. I love it through and through. Of course it's like Revenge of the Sith, it's Faust.
But yeah, great depiction of the devil. What's with the name Swan, aside from it almost looking like Satan?
