Yeah. The thing is, Christianity doesn't have a monopoly on archetypal narrative/myth. (Christians LOVE to claim monopolies on things) I'm gonna drop some Jung in here for good measure: "The living spirit grows and even outgrows its earlier forms of expression; it freely chooses the men in whom it lives and who proclaim it. This living spirit is eternally renewed and pursues its goal in manifold and inconceivable ways throughout the history of mankind. Measured against it, the names and forms which men have given it mean little enough; they are only the changing leaves and blossoms on the stem of the eternal tree." - The final paragraph of Modern Man in Search of a SoulSo...it would be more accurate to say that Star Wars is religion for atheist nerds. Beautiful!

Jung is in the habit of being profound af. Longwinded, but profound.

Peterson's hands 'n' fingers have midichlorians of their own when he talks.

Peterson's hands 'n' fingers have midichlorians of their own when he talks. Jordan "Spiffy Hands" Peterson. And so, and so. Uh huh, uh huh. RIGHT. Ha! You know... It's bloody complicated. Archetypically speaking. Multivariate analysis. Fundamental. Dominance hierarchy. Predictable across multiple dimensions of behaviour. Jungian discourse. RADICAL LEFT. Fight the demons. Instantiated in reality. Highest level of abstraction. In one sense. One of the attributes. Embodied in. It's something like... To the degree that we can... Well, there ya go. It's, like, whatever man. Fair enough, fair enough. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT.

Is this a Sami song about Jar Jar? Actually, it's about Luke and Jar Jar. Another song about Jar Jar

These are the best reaction videos. Villagers from India watching Star Wars. They've seen episodes 1-4 so far.

So Canadian.
I wonder, what with all the crazy amateur boxing matches being organised, if we'll ever see Peterson step into the ring against Trudeau? That would make Zuck-Musk look like a pre-school squabble

At this point, Trudeau is basically the world's punching bag so it would be redundant, lol.

Peterson reminds me more of Dooku, actually. The fact he doesn't acknowledge that there is any science behind transgenderism feels like deleting inconvenient information from that archive memory.

It's such a random thing to say, to vent to Vader about. I love the whole "no context" to it
Peterson doesn't have any of the menace of a Darth Sidious or Darth Maul to him. He's too Canadian, too folksy, for any of that, which just adds to the hilariousness of the scene

His whininess is funny all by itself, but placing it in a different context like this definitely adds to the lawlz.

I tell you what, when he first broke onto the scene he had a lot of good advise that might have helped Anakin. There were few academics of a high profile back then who bothered to care about young men struggling in this world, and he has to be credited for that. He also had that interview/duel with Kathy Newman, which will live long in the memory. The biblical lecture series as viewed from a psychological lens was his original hit of course.
Indeed he's toured all over the world, with remarkable success. That's something even the famed Canadian ice hockey team probably hasn't achieved. Since coming out of his hospitalisation, however, he's not been the same. Less psychology, way too much politics. He seems less composed and too prone to getting angry or whiney as you say (GOOD LUCK WITH THAT). There are a lot of vultures flying around American politics and its mediascape, all trying to use and abuse him for their purposes, and I'm not sure he's aware of it all.
I do appreciate him for revealing a lot of the messed up censorship things happening in Canada though. The international media would never two damns about any of this, singing about a land of milk and honey all day.

I definitely prefer pre-COVID JP to post-COVID JP. As a self-help teacher I have no problem with him. However, he said many times that his project is not primarily political, but like you said, less psychology more politics. He is basically part of The Conservative Party's PR at this point. And yes, having people constantly coming at you is definitely prone to put one in a reactive and bitchy mode. I don't envy anyone in the public eye in this current media landscape. I compare him more to Dooku because he isn't pure evil like The Emperor. Like Dooku, he believes his trying to do good for the world, whereas Palpatine knows exactly what he is doing, that his actions will hurt many people and benefit himself and he is totally fine with that. When it comes to censorship in Canada, I still can't decide whether there is a legitimate argument for that or not. Like I said, I am hermit, so I don't get out much or exist in public in any major way so I may be just completely cut off from witnessing this censorship for myself. In general, Canada is exaggerated by right-wing media as being a communist hellscape. I can tell you from living in Canada myself I don't recognize my home when I hear right-wingers wax doom and gloom about it. The only thing I dislike about living in Canada is the forest fires we've been getting in British Columbia as of late. It has been smokey all summer so you have to wait for the smoke to clear out and get outside when you can.
