The cinematography is fantastic. I downloaded all the trailers from this website a couple of weeks ago: www.hd-trailers.net/movie/no-time-to-die/Those are Apple iTunes versions. Much higher quality than what you get on YouTube. Anyway, the way this movie looks is seductive to me. Extremely detailed and clear, deep tones, and a perfect colour palette. And shot on film.

JAMES BLOODY BOND IS BACK!!!!!! Are you sure? He was "back" in Spring of 2020 and then "back" again in Fall of 2020 and then "back" for a third time this past April. It's become the snow leopard of Bond movies. Or, the Loch Ness Monster of Bond movies.
Or the G-spot of Bond movies.
I haven't bothered with any marketing footage since the initial trailer way back in December of 2019; I was good to go from that one on forward. Lotta talk about how this latest entry has gone woke but I'll reserve judgment for the final product as, half the time, the studio/filmmakers push such rhetoric primarily to appease the pseudo-gatekeepers that are the marketing journalists. A black female 00 is fine—in theory. Ford costar Phoebe Waller-Bridge assuming the mantle from Indiana Jones is fine—in theory. It's more about the story content, the execution, the nuance. But I wouldn't be surprise either way. We'll see.
Yes, though, No Time To Die does look pretty from what I've observed. Not yet sure how I feel about the 2-hour and 40-minute runtime. Bond films have an average of being on the heftier side with 2-hour-plus stretches but this one's really pushing the limit. Perhaps they're going for 'epic novel'.

I don't care either as long as it's a decent movie. That's all that counts at the end of the day.
I actually wrote "This looks epic", but then I realised I sounded twelve. It definitely has that vibe, though. Seems they want to close the Craig era on something of a high/fulsome/operatic note. If you go by Star Wars movies in order of production, the fifth one is the meatiest!

I think the movie will be great- if not quite good. Much of the woke talk is nonsense spouted by tabloids like the Daily Mail. But yeah, can't wait to see it.

Don’t really have much to say except wow- what a film. Don’t know how I’d rank it compared to the other Bond films but it’s definitely somewhere near the top

The reviews seem to be mixed. Some even compare it to the Last Jedi of the Bond franchise.
That said, I can't say I enjoy Craig's outing. Too much like Jason Bourne for my liking and Craig isn't even trying to be charming. Skyfall is about the only entry I really liked.

Craigy's okay, but Sean Connery is probably still the best all-rounder, followed by the intensity and dashing looks of Timothy Dalton. He really should have done more films. And yes, the Shanghai part of "Skyfall" is pretty nice. Also, the Bond franchise hasn't quite been the same since John Barry stopped doing the music. "The Living Daylights" was his last one and it's terrific.

Maybe I'm a romantic but OHMSS is still my favorite and about the only one I saw more than once (too bad about Lazenby). It's the prequels of the Bond movies: derided at first but now a frequent favorite of many primarily because of the great story.
My second favorite is probably Skyfall. It's probably the least "Bond" out of all the Bond movies... but maybe that's why I dig it.
I like both of Dalton's flicks. Very underrated. He's modern but not devoid of charm like Craig.
Tomorrow Never Dies and The Worlds is Not Enough are decent (primarily because of the Bond girls and Dame Judy).
I can't remember anything from Roger Moore era except the one with the Duran Duran song and C.Walken as a villain.
Connery is definitely my favorite Bond, there's just something about him... Imagine replacing Indy. Yes, other actors can do a good job but something will be lost forever.

The Craig series has progressively gone worse with every iteration. Casino Royale was great, Quantum of Solace was meh, Skyfall was worse than meh but had great cinematography, and Spectre just had a good opening sequence. I've only seen the last two years after they came out and I'm in no rush for this last one.

Well, it was an odd exercise for a James Bond movie. Long and narratively scattered yet solidly entertaining en route. But it's an odd movie to be sure. How it concludes was also inevitable upon reflection. A primary element of the franchise's longevity has been its very continuum; Bond, the incarnation of reincarnation, not simply from one actor the next but even from installment to the next, altogether free from long-form storytelling demands. And yet with every subsequent Craig entry, each wading deeper and deeper into a labyrinth of arced pathos, the integrity of that continuum has been steadily chipped away, resulting in a self-contained saga ballad of the character, a first for the series. So how do you end that ballad? The only way you can. I'll say no more for the sake of spoilers.
I couple of sharp criticisms, however...
Billie Eilish's title song landed for me with a total thud and I'm baffled by the fact that it was actually nominated for accolades. As with the film's marketing, I managed to avoid listening to the song until accompanied proper by the feature film itself, where best served, but found myself already forgetting it as it was playing over the credits montage. Even when assuming the sultry-and-dangerous tenor traditional to Bond melodies, the attempt here cannot shake Eilish's breathy exaggerations & emo-teen bullshit. It certainly wasn't poorly produced by any stretch, just a wet blanket in sensibility that I did best to dismiss from my mind by credits end.
Rami Malek as our main villain, Lyutsifer Safinthe, was a bust; not as a plot driving antagonist, necessarily, but as a memorable persona meant for chewing scenery. The problem is repetition: those fey mannerisms, the hushed articulations, that thousand-yard stare... across the Craig era we've seen one too many alien-intoned villains in succession for Safinthe to find distinction, let alone lasting purchase. It was mostly just Malek playing up his type-cast countenance.
I might share some positives later, after I've had some more time to process the film; suffice to say, I enjoyed it plainly. I've enjoyed the Craig era in the same respect. But I'm glad it's over.

I liked the video on OHMSS being the last true James Bond movie. Derided at first, forgotten for a while, but proven influential over the years. Reminds you of something else? As for No Time To Die, sounds like the chief complaint is spoiler the ending. However, we all know Bond will return... so what was the point of doing it?

OHMSS is… alright, but I wouldn’t say it’s the last true Bond film. That’s a bit like suggesting that there hasn’t been a good Star Wars film since the 80’s, as some fans claim.

I agree, I liked many of the sequels to some extent. I think there's something special about OHMSS though that hasn't been replicated since.

I just watched every Daniel Craig 007 movie in sequence, and IMHO they easily get better as they go.

LOL. I love how everyone is talking to themselves in here.
I preferred Bond when he wore a hat in the gun barrel sequence. That about cover it?
