Any fans of this film here? When it comes to slightly misunderstood masterpieces, I think this is definitely one of them. An epic fantasy based on a biblical story was a bold idea. It has fantastic visuals (those stone giant angels, creation sequence, montage of man's sins), affecting music, and a powerful story with an anti-war message.
"What's so exciting about approaching the Star Wars cycle, is it's very much like an archeological excavation ... You can go deeper in the stratigraphic levels ... Did George Lucas mean for this connection to be made, or am I making it? Am I participating as part of the poet, the creator in seeing connections, and that is the mythological process everyone sees themself."
